lol, yes, and all players who make the NHL are good so there is no point in calling one of them bad because they are better than me at hockey.
The Pens won back to back cups (BACK TO BACK) as recently as 2 years ago.
BACK TO BACK
The Flames can't even manage to make the playoffs two years in a row.

It's still early, I'm not too worried yet. I don't believe Peters is to blame; give him a team like Tampa, or Washington and I don't think they fall apart. I think coaching, while important, is often disproportionately valued than the actual composition of the team. Like I said, it's still early, and I like the make up of this team - However, if they lay another egg this season i won't blame Peters. To me, if that happens there may be something fundamentally wrong, or missing with the core of this team. On the bright side, this thrashing may be exactly what the team needed to bump up their give a #### factor.... we'll see.

He had a point didn't he?
Teams get blown out. Does he have to be as depressed as some or can he be even keeled and see how it works out?

Actually they can only control how hard they work.
They have no control over how hard the opponent works.

Do we have to criticize other fans? As a group, Flames fans have been resilient and patient from the day this team moved to Calgary.
The team has been badly outplayed three games in a row and was handed one of the worst home beatings in the organization's history. I'd expect some anger.

They have one more win than they did last year after 8 games.
They Flames have the same record (5-5) as last year after 10.
Both teams finished within one win of each other.
Let’s see how it shakes out.

I quite prefer the happy ditch, even when the team takes performance plunges like it has over the past week.

Pens lost to non-playoff bound Chicago 10-1 around this time last year and went on to do pretty well. Lost 7-1 to the Caps in Nov. 2016 (and went on to win the cup).
Chicago also beat Washington 7-1 last year.

Things will be fine.
But goaltending will doom this team.
If you go into a season knowing you have a super young group of dmen, you are banking on your goalie stealing you some games and making you some saves to keep you in games while the dmen learn the ropes.
Where things are teetering on the edge is if Smith can't find some sort of form here then the flames will be out of it before christmas.

I dunno man, both. If smith somehow remembers how to stop the puck and the Dmen get better, then its fine. but we're done by christmas if smith keeps playing like this

Smiths got to be on the verge of losing the starter role, no? The apologists will say he didn't have a chance on any of them, but whether or not the defense in front of him is a dumpster fire, one goalie makes saves and one doesn't. And if the team does in fact play different in front of Smith, then isn't that still a sign he's done?
The thing is, this hasn't just been the last 3 games. They looked good against Nashville and Boston but they've looked bad in most of their other games. I feel like 5-5 flatters the way this team has been playing. The Vancouver and New York games were not well played, they just have more talent than those clubs.
Hoping they get things sorted out sooner than later!
