They'd have to come up with a pretty innovative phone to knock off Apple and the Android phones. Just coming out with a phone that is equal to those isn't going to make it happen since people will be skeptical of Windows Mobile and most are pretty happy with Apple or Android.

The big question for any consumer is going to be, "what extra value do I get for switching to WM7?". I've yet to hear a compelling answer to that question.

...over a thousand of whom apparently walked away from their jobs today as a sort of non-violent protest -- or maybe just to get a preview of what their Friday afternoons will look like once Elop starts dropping the axe. It should be noted that they used their flexible work schedules to enable this, so this is one orderly bit of social dissonance that shouldn't result in any accelerations of whatever layoffs are to come.

First of many protests I imagine until the axe comes down. Now Elop is saying that they're going to try to beat android.

Seems to me its a case of mistaken priorities... They should be focusing on product lines that will improve profitability, not attacking a platform that is supported by multiple companies. Might be too late by the time they polish things enough in WM7 if they continue down this way.
