I'm still overly cautious with the clips after many years riding with them.

I read that when you wipeout with clips, the feet tend to release. I just envision my wreck being worse because I'm attached to the bike. I guess I will find out in time.

Finally got the Thunderbolt out on dirt this morning as I went to west Bragg and rode snowshoe hare, bragging rights and merlin....my thoughts were:
. Skipping the first part of bragging rights by riding snowshoe hare is much easier than that grind out of the parking lot
. I was stunned at ow dry the trails were
. Not sure if it was the bike, or me - but today I rode about 95% of that loop, including several sections that I previously had trouble with
This bike is a rocket, it is much more nimble than my old altitude. The slightly wider tires, 2.4, seemed to float over more stuff.
Need to dial it in a bit, to make the fit more comfortable.
I am hoping to get out tomorrow, but the forecast does not look promising.

I broke my wrist a few years ago on a slow speed tipover because I couldn't get my foot out... I've only just put the clips back on my bike

Opinions on best bike locks?
Any good tech options? (gps tracker, maybe alarm to smartphone, etc?)
[researching, mostly finding Kryptonite as best]
Thanks

^ if your bike is valuable, then I would recommend insurance in addition to the lock.
Krypton ute is likely the best option, but I suppose it depends on what type of bike you are locking up and where you are locking it up.

In the age of battery-powered angle grinders, are any locks really safe? There is a raging theft epidemic happening around here.
Rode up to canmore->banff on the SB6c via RR last week. Stopped at the Elk and Oarsman for an elk poutine... So not enjoyable because I was paranoid the entire time; I must have looked out the window a dozen times in 30 minutes to confirm my ride was still there.

New cycling hazard on the city pathways, Pokemon players completely engrossed in the game unaware of their surroundings. Had a guy on the south Bow river path under the center street bridge walk right in front of the cyclist in front of me, and the players are all over the place around Prince's island and the bridges to it.

It's stampede. Just grab a tablecloth and turn it into a poncho.

I've never forgot a shirt, but quite often forget a belt, underwear or shoes. So yeah...I feel ya.

I completed the 160 km PGAMO on Sunday. My goal going into it was to finish in under 6 hours. As I detailed earlier in this thread, I hurt my knee three weeks ago. I got it as ready as I could. Early on in the PGAMO I knew it would be sore at one point. It held up for about 3 hours, and I was making excellent time. Then it just was too sore to go that speed anymore. I did the first 100 kms in almost exactly 3:00, and it took me 2:42 to complete the last 60. I stopped on one hill four times because it hurt so much, and 1 more time on another hill. The good news was that I finished, and still had banked enough time early on that I broke 6 hours, with a final time of 5:42. 8 minutes of that was stopping on hills. I was very pleased I managed to go the whole race without stopping at a single aid station for water, and I didn't take any pee breaks. My new saddle is awesome and I with I had bought it much earlier. I think it helped in the lack of pee breaks. Without my injury I think I could have broken 5:30, as one of the people I was riding with for a while finished in 5:29. Hopefully I recover, and I will take another shot at it next year.

this is the first week since about mid-march that I have driven to work more than two times in a week.
was thinking ahrd about riding this morning, but it was raining at home.
the chances of any mtn biking this weekend do not seem overly high.
