Treliving says he doesn't anticipate teams having a taxi squad this year.

On the change thing, Treliving is a little caught in a presser before camp. If he says “yeah, I didn’t like the core, but we just couldn’t get any decent deals done to move them” he is basically telling the team (right before camp) “you are crappy players who no one really wanted”. So sure, he has to dance.

I shi!t on Francis more often than not, but him asking if Parsons is vaccinated is appropriate journalism.

Only hope is that Sutter grinds some success out of this group.

That's the hail mary goal for this team this seaon.

It's not a recipe for sustained success either.

If Parsons remains unvaccinated and the travel restrictions into Canada don't change, it makes the most sense to loan him out to another AHL team.

Calling him up from Stockton would require a 2 week quarantine unless the Flames are on a US road trip.

It pretty much limits his use as a callup this season. Might as well give the Stockton ice time to goalies who might actually play games with the big club.

Trees tenure ends when Sutter stops coaching the team. This is the last dance for Tree.

I hope this is more of a case similar to the Keith where he is getting it but hasn't cleared the amount of days. Or maybe had the single J&J shot (is that recognized?). Giving the player the benefit of the doubt for now.

If Parsons is an antivaxxing, stupid and/or selfish, garbage human being they should probably just cut him loose.

What if the team does really well during that tenure?

Even before any quarantine issues, it was a safe bet that Adam Werner was ahead of Parsons on the call-up depth chart.

I guess we will see. Expectations are extremely low on that front.

So then Tre's job is not linked to Sutter. Simply to team performance, as would be the case with any GM.

Good ol company line

"anything can happen once you get into the dance"

Built a team on a poor foundation, it has eroded, and the messaging remains the same.

I wonder if this ownership group just grinds their GM's down over time. Sutter was always a little standoffish with the media but by the end of his GM tenure was downright defiant. Treliving sounds like a guy that's feeling the burden of his job.

Point is, he doesn't get another coaching hire. In my opinion. And if Sutter can't get it done then yeah tree fate is tied to sutters. He's responsible for it all. Not sure why you think otherwise.

Thats this franchise summed up no doubt.

Set the bar low right from the start.

No wonder they are the kings of mediocrity.
This year, that answer is 100% genuine. Roster isn't all that much different, heck could be worse than past seasons. Hope is that the new coach can get more out with a full training camp to work with.

I really feel like the flames are aware of being on the brink of a tear down. Should the team struggle and/or the gaudreau/tkachuk contract situations get fugly, there won't be many other alternatives.

So the goal/bar is to just get in.

My biggest problem is that the answer/offseason action was about the same even the season after winning the regular season western conference race. Regardless of whether the team is Good or bad, goal is always the same, which sucks.
