I will be very surprised if his PTO turns into a contract offer. He has been running on fumes ever since he got to Calgary, and that gas tank is empty. St. Louis does not have a player who can bounce pucks off his butt and into the net.

Me too... I thought once the playoffs begin, we’ll have a secret weapon.... turned out, not so much.... a useless bench warmer.

That flyby was one of the worst plays I’ve seen a Flames player make, ever.
Let’s not turn this into a competition either, let’s stay on topic. Neal is a bum.

I think a lot of time players get PTOs, it is more of a favour to the agent than the player. It helps build goodwill by giving them a platform to showcase the player for not just the team making the invite, but for the league as a whole. There will be scouts from other teams keeping an eye on the players.
Who is Neal’s agent and does he represent other high profile St Louis players?

I hope that Neal con's the Blues into giving him a contract only to have them trying like hell to terminate it by mid November.

So.... at CapFriendly... James Neal is not listed on the UFA list anymore, which happened once you signed the PTO, but now it appears they've added them back in for the most part (haven't checked name by name)... but James Neal is not on this list... Frolik is, who is also on a PTO for St. Louis.... so I'm wondering what the difference is.
I noticed this behavior last year as well.... early PTO were removed from the list and ones signed closer to camp were not with the the signing team logo next to the name replacing the NHL one. Then the earlier PTO signings were added back to the list.
So does anyone know why Neal is different or is it just a mistake and they forgot to add him back, or is it because he has buy-out money coming.... I've notice there is no one on this list receiving a buy-out.

Scored a hat trick in tonight's Blues-Wild preseason opener.
I hope he does con the Blues into giving him a contract

Haha classic James Neal. Always starts hot then it dries up. Except the year he was a Flame. That was probably the most I have ever cringed at a Flames player.

Well, no. Neal sucked balls to start the year last season as well.

One of those goals was pretty fluky too. He lobbed it at the net from the corner on the goal line, it hit the goalies skate and deflected in.

That's just a pure goal scorer with high hockey IQ willing the puck into the net like he always does. STUD!
