Gio 500- Gio, Suter, Chopper- elite company?
realize putting this in the game thread isn't best place for it, so...
the site I was looking at may be slightly incomplete as it doesn't combine franchises across different cities,but with Gio's 500th point that makes him the 3rd defenceman in a Calgary Flames jersey to record 500 points (MacInnis, Suter)
joining Montreal (Robinson, Lapointe, Markov) and Chicago (Wilson, Keith, Murray)
I'd be interested to know if my search is incomplete or I missed someone

TOR had two with Salming and Kaberle (Horton 458...Rielly currently 296)
DET had Lidstrom and Larson. Kronwall put up 432. Can Hronek keep up his 0.5ppg pace for 850 more games?
DAL only have Zubov, but Klingberg already at 316 and Heiskanen are trending that way.
WAS has five over 400, but only Carlson has 510, Johansson, Stevens, K Hatcher, Gonchar. MTL also has five (Harvey, Savard).
CHI has six over 400: add Pilote, Chelios, Seabrook lowest at 464
P Reinhart also had 445 for CGY/ATL

Guys like Coffee, Pronger, Larry Murphy moved around a fair bit so a team like Pittsburgh or Detroit had guys with big career point totals but not long enough for 500 points.

I wonder if Gio gets considered for top-5 all time in Flames history.
Iggy, MacInnes, Kiprusoff, Lanny, Fleury, Niewendyk, etc. Not sure if he beats any of those guys, but he’s certainly top-10.
Congrats on 500 regardless!

Good for Gio. He gets hate because his play has dropped off (by myself included sometimes - so many hit shin pads) but dude is a warrior.
