I have the week blocked in my calendar, and rescheduled things due to the 2nd COVID shot.

Literally had a colleague call me to say "good call on the reschedule, never thought of that, I have my second shot 3 days before you".

That said, if the vaccine is kicking your a** that hard, COVID would have destroyed you.

I'm fully expecting that reaction.

Actually, you should recommend this to everyone sir, relax, have a few beers with that headache and realize you're being part of the solution not the problem.

the reaction to the second shot is literally your body fighting the disease, it is a very good sign, I had quite a reaction to my first shot and my doctor suspects it may have been an indication I had already had the disease

I got a little fatigued after my second shot so it’s not all that bad for everyone.

I think what you mean is that you personally are having a bad reaction to it and would recommend that everyone get both shots of their vaccine?

I felt a little fatigued after my 1st dose with a sore arm for a day or so. My second dose had almost nothing in terms of side effects.

Again, the alternative is far worse. I'm sure anyone can handle a day of feeling "under the weather" as opposed to being hospitalized, having long-term destruction of lung tissue, or possibly even dying. It's an easy choice to make.

I say this as I am currently researching and writing a chapter on smallpox. It's eerie how much things seem to repeat. Lots of stories of "infringement on my personal rights" and "immoral to intentionally inject people with something" throughout the history. Yet nearly half a million people in Europe died from the disease in Europe alone in the 19th century because they refused to take a vaccine that was available to them.

'Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.' ~ George Santayana

Vaccine thread is here: https://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=181635

We’re talking about the politicization of COVID-19 and the vaccine in the US.

Yes back on topic I think the question is, are there cultural barriers (not trusting the vaccine site or the vaccine itself), economic barriers (inability to lose work days for an uncertain period of time), or structural barriers (the vaccine site is 1 mile away from a white person and 5 miles away from a black person) preventing people of color to get vaccinated? I've been looking around really trying to find numbers but I suspect it's a combination of all three.

Trump tells people in inner circle he expects to be 'reinstated' as president in August: Report

Quote:
Former President Donald Trump has reportedly told those close to him that he expects to be "reinstated" as president in August.

“Trump has been telling a number of people he’s in contact with that he expects he will get reinstated by August (no that isn’t how it works but simply sharing the information),” said New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman on Twitter.
Quote:
Haberman speculated in subsequent tweets that the timing of the talk of Trump being reinstated could coincide with an indictment in New York.

“It isn’t happening in a vacuum. It is happening as he faced the possibility of an indictment from the Manhattan DA,” Haberman said. “But he is not putting out statements about the 'audits' in states just for the sake of it. He’s been laser focused on them, according to several people who’ve spoken with him.”

QAnon had a 3-day conference over Memorial Day long weekend that included guest speakers like, Congressman Gomert (TX), GOP Chair for Texas, Michael Flynn and former Trump attorney, Sidney Powell and they discussed this very topic.

I also saw a clip where someone in the audience asked what, if anything, is stopping them from replicating what happened in Myanmar, to which Flynn responded, "Nothing".

Tickets went for $500 each!

Didn’t he also tout a Myanmar-style coup in the States?

Love that Manchin and Sinema still refuse to budge on the filibuster, even with voting rights on the line.

Great job tripping over your own dicks again, guys.

My American friends can't stand these clowns. The fact that Biden's entire agenda can be so easily derailed by a couple of stubborn f***wits from their own party must be absolutely infuriating. Manchin especially holds way too much power. The Dems better figure out a way to get these two on board quick if they want to get anything through the Senate before the mid-terms.

Sometimes I wonder if Sinema might be the only secret the GOP's ever managed to keep.
