Strip 'A' From Troy Brouwer?
If the coaching staff stripped Brouwer of the 'A', would this allow for an easier trade involving Brouwer, or would it hurt his trade value? I keep hearing on the radio how Brouwer being an assistant captain with a heavy contract likely means he won't sit or be scratched. What if he no longer had the 'A'? Easier to demote/scratch/trade?

Although the idea is humorous.

No, I don't think it'd make a difference in terms of trading him.
I also don't like when fans suggest so and so deserves an A, or that someone (Brouwer) doesn't deserve a letter. So much of team leadership is off ice, and it makes me laugh when fans presume to know anything about a team dynamic.
Since signing, we've heard from Treliving, Gulutzan, and from many of Brouwer's teammates that he is a great leader. He was often mentioned along with Gio, Stajan, and Engelland as the reasons the team was able to pull themselves out from the bottom last year and get it together.

If so, its not the coaches letter to remove.
