Stars acquire Lovejoy from NJ for Carrick and 3rd
New Jersey Devils @NJDevils
#NHLTrade: The #NJDevils have acquired defenseman @connorcarrick and a Third-Round pick in the 2019 #NHLDraft from the Dallas Stars in exchange for defenseman Ben Lovejoy (@RevLovejoy6).

Sellers market on D for sure, but at forward seems like there are a lot more options. Glad the flames are 9 deep on D when healthy. Even Prout has looked decent

Defensive depth is always expensive at trade deadline. This year doesn't even seem like especially bad in that regard.

Why does dallas waste a 3rd rounder on this? Lovejoy is a 6/7 defenseman who is purely a rental. And they gave up a 24yr old #7 defenseman to get him. And then also threw in a 3rd round pick?
And they're probably getting bounced in the first round. Wow - dumb.
