Big test. The Isles usually seem to have our number, and they're very good.
It's my first wedding anniversary tonight, so I'll have to assume the success of the team is a barometer for the success of the marriage. Go Flames Go!

Isles have been on a roll lately. Flames will need to bring their A game for this one.

Watch out for the Islanders 4L.
They should watch out for ours too.
This should be a fun game.

Is Casey Cizikas still their 4C?
The guy is an NHL 2C, and I would put him right there with Backlund as a guy I'd love to have on my team in any role.

Barry Trotz has been pretty successful as a coach, but particularly when he has a group that can embody that Underdog style mentality.
This will be a good test for the Flames. Hopefully they've had time to settle and can get themselves on another good run of hockey.

Bottom 6 for the Flames have been carrying a lot of the weight lately, be nice to see the top line break out tonight. Should be a good game.

The Flames have won two straight, most recently a 5-2 decision over the visiting Arizona Coyotes in a matinee Monday to start this three-game homestand. Derek Ryan , Mark Giordano , Austin Czarnik , Michael Frolik and Mikael Backlund scored for the Flames, who have now tallied 10 goals in their last two games after beating the Penguins 5-4 in Pittsburgh on Saturday. Secondary scoring has certainly been a big storyline in the two victories, with the club getting offensive contributions up-and-down the lineup. Ryan, notably, now has four points in his last two games … The Flames are 18-5-5 at the Scotiabank Saddledome this season. They have now surpassed their total home wins (17) from last season - and still have 13 home games remaining.
THEM
The Isles will come into tonight's tilt extremely well rested. They haven't played since Saturday night, when they dumped the visiting Edmonton Oilers 5-2 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. After a scoreless first period, Ryan Pulock and Valterri Filppula staked the homeside to a 2-0 lead before Ryan Nugent-Hopkins tallied with just three second left in the middle stanza. Barzal, Lee and Brock Nelson scored in the third to salt it away. Robin Lehner made 34 saves … Battling to win the Metropolitan Division, the Isles have been one of the biggest storylines in the NHL so far this season. They are 6-2-2 in their last 10 games.

TJ Brodie is on the ice for morning skate today. He missed Monday’s win over Arizona with an undisclosed injury.
Michael Stone also out there in a yellow non-contact jersey. First time he’s been on the ice with his teammates since November. #Flames

That's too bad. I was really hoping Rittich would get the net back for this one.

I will take the positive out of this in that every game Rittich doesn't start is one less game that increases his AAV this July, barring an amazing playoff run at which point you gladly toss that out the window.

I would have gone Rittich ... is it now win and you're in? I could see the Florida and Arizona games as Smith starts, the Penguins start was a "Rittich needs some work" additional start.
Tonight though is a new starter being used (for the time being, potentially short lived)

I still think we should sell the farm for Greiss.
Brodie + 2nd + Smith or
Bennett + 1st + Smith
