That's not exactly the way it works though, regarding cap space. Pro rated over approximately 1/5 of the season (after deadline) the Flames have 5.8M in cap space. Which essential means they can take on a 5.8M AAV contract.
So they have a little over 1M in cap space, x5. Which is essentially all eaten by Tkachuk potential bonus, which would come off next year instead.

Not sure why people who don't understand the cap make statements as if they do. I won't say those bonuses are crippling, but the would take nearly 1M from. Next year if everything is used this year

Tkachuk has already hit the minimums for goals and assists and just needs one more point to hit that as well.

The ice-time, +/-, and points-per-game numbers won't be fully known until the end of the season, but he's currently on pace to hit the ice time and PPG minimums.

As it stands, the expectation should be for him to max-out his bonuses this season.

If he gets 1 point the rest of the season he maxes out. This would automatically secure him G, A, P and PPG (0.73x82= 59.9)
