Watched the first episode of the new Discovery season. I had almost completely forgotten my level of disdain for the writers, and if I hate the ones that write the characters or the stories more.
I don't get how SNW can be so good and this can be so bad.

The new season started yesterday with 2 episodes. Still as good as it has ever been.

Kind of funny how no one is talking about Discovery dropping the first 2 episodes of Season 5 yesterday. I saw zero advertising for it.
I'm going to punish myself and watch them this afternoon. It's crap outside, might as well be crap inside too.

One of the problems with being 1000 years in the future with access to CGI is they don't bother explaining anything anymore. If they need something to happen, it just wiz bangs away, and poof, roll on. There are no technical obstacles anymore, so the only impediments that exist are there for Burnham to solve.
Let me know if you find a character to cheer for or empathize with, I found this episode so empty.

I finished the first episode and I'm actually excited about the season. Only because it ties back to a loose end from TNG and one of my favourite episodes.
Still, lots of stupidity and forgettable characters to get us there.

Cool- If i could have picked the worst story lines to bring back up in star trek canon that would have been close to the top.
It's an unbelievable contraction to the universe.
