Rory Gallagher would've been 68 today. He's a guy I wish I'd discovered earlier than I did:

And then of course out of Wales from the early seventies
Budgie, and so we're clear they predate rush by four or five years, not saying Rush ripped them off (but maybe thinking it!!)

I'm on a J-Pop Metal binge. Never really thought that would be something I would ever say

I was doing another play through of sleeping dogs and found myself just listening to the daptone station.

Best of both worlds for me.

Amazing how they can duplicate the sound on the records.

Have to get one of those Chapman sticks.

Musical giants. Discipline is, IMO one of the most influential albums ever created.

Yeah, that's how I started listening to them, most of the bands I was into cited them as an influence.
Lots of Toronto bands from the 80s - early 90s tried to have a similar style.

That's funny, I checked them out after researching early metal bands and their album Red came up. Fell in love, but then again I've always had a soft spot for the progressive.

I always thought Tool was like a modern day, introspective version of Zepplin on extra strong LSD, but after hearing Discipline, it clicked.

I've listened to this a few times today. Getting really pumped for the release of this full album from Thrice. Sounds better than their Bluesy effort of the past two or 3 albums.
