A Real James Neal Deal?
Saw this one red flag deals. Sportchek has Adidas Authentic Flames home jerseys https://www.sportchek.ca/categories/...D=332776230_60 with Neal on the back for $39.98 (use code "SCSHIP" for free shipping). All sizes available when I ordered mine. Hoping that the Flames next 18 is actually the real deal and I can just change the name bar (I think there is a guy on CP that does that too).

Yeah... I went to jersey city to get the Neal I got at sportchek during the sale turned into a Stajan.
They did this to it...

That looks like one of those DIY in-store heat seal jobs (a very poorly done one at that). Jersey City normally sends away for proper sewn cresting (I believe); good to hear you (eventually) got a refund.

Just a heads up — this looks like it has the one layer factory applied cresting, versus the multi-layer sewn twill you would normally expect at Fan Attic. Also, if the rumours of going full-time retro next year are true, there may not be another #18 wearing the flag patch jersey. Still a good deal though!

Well I already ordered it and it's final sale, so I guess I'll get it changed to Stajan like The Scorpion, I don't exactly mind that anyway.

If you grabbed one of these and you're willing to do a little extra work, it is possible to remove Neal's name and number entirely. I've stripped a few jerseys in the past so I know it can be a PITA, but this one actually wasn't that bad (I can post instructions if anyone is interested; please proceed at your own risk).
After removing the numbers/namebar there was a faint outline in the fabric, but after a quick press with a medium iron (using a pillow case overtop), there is little, if any, sign there had ever been a name/number. Obviously you'll have to pay if you want a new name/number, but I'm happy to keep it as a blank. Thanks again OP!

That looks great Scorp!!! It’s crazy to me still just how important of an Alum Stajan turned into where as Phaneuf bounced around and even though he was a T.O Captain isn’t really going to leave too many lasting impressions as an Alum across the teams he suited up for. That trade still blows my mind to this day but we did finally win it out right when Stajan buried that 5-4 goal! Beauty Jersey!

Just occurred to me that you have two thirds of that line now for jersey’s with you David Jones one unless you have a Ferland Jersey as well?? That would be insane to have in the collection!!

Yes, I have the whole line. Ferland, Stajan, and Jones.
I have a lot of that team, to be honest. But I'm missing both goalies and the whole top line... need to fix that at some point.

I almost threw mine on McLeod Trail driving home from a friends house after the game 4 OT loss to Colorado (which happened to be Neal’s last game as a Flame).
Only reason I didn’t is because it still had a Flames logo on it. It did lay in a crumpled heap under my bed for a few months though.
Neal blows.
