That's such a nice picture. I love the Saddledome and the Calgary skyline.
Indianapolis and Edmonton look like Lethbridge in comparison.

That’s a cheap shot at Lethbridge.

The Athletic looks at the Hub options that are still on the table: https://theathletic.com/1869670/2020...he-second-hub/
Vegas seems to be the odds-on favourite to be one hub. Something drastic would have to happen for Vegas to not be one of the hubs at this point.
The other hub will depend on what happens with the Canadian government relaxing the 14-day quarantine requirement for any cross-border travel. If the restrictions are relaxed, the second hub will likely be Toronto, but could also be Vancouver. If the restrictions are not relaxed, the second hub will likely be Los Angeles or Chicago.
Columbus and Pittsburgh are also still possibilities, but only if the cities ahead of them fall out. There is concern that the players might go stir-crazy in those cities due to a lack of amenities. Also, things are more spread out in both of those cities than they would be in the preferred cities.
Fallen out of the running: Minnesota -- riots; Dallas -- COVID spiking in Texas and lack of practice facilities; Edmonton -- No good.
A final decision on the hub cities is expected by the end of the week, or early next week.

^ MGM still has a couple hotels that aren’t open to the public. The NHL has requested a non smoking/ non gaming hotel. It seriously looks like the NHL will take over an entire hotel which has bee totally suited to their demands.

I think it might make it pretty interesting, as you'll be able to hear the on ice sounds/chatter/cursing more clearly without the crowd noise.

A federal official told The Canadian Press on Thursday that the government issued an order in council that would allow one of Vancouver, Edmonton or Toronto to serve as one of the NHL's two hub cities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The official was granted anonymity because they weren't authorized to discuss the order publicly.
The order is awaiting the Governor General's signature.
Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Marco Mendicino has issued a letter saying it's in the national interest to have a Canadian hub after the Public Health Agency of Canada and the public health authorities in Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver all gave their approval of the NHL's plan to keep players separate from the general public.
It would be called a cohort quarantine.
The move would allow the NHL to bypass the traditional 14-day quarantine for anyone entering Canada.
The NHL had to present a plan that met public health requirements for Canada before the government proceeded with the order.

Based on SureLoss' post, Toronto will be the Canadian hub. They won't have the two hubs in the West. The East is too important and scheduling is critical.

^^Definitely agree, unless things change looks like a done deal for Vegas and Toronto.
If the Flames are staying in Canada for the playoffs, no need for them to hold training camp in the States. I would think Flames players will start heading here asap, get the quarantine over with and get ready for camp in a few weeks.

So they might pick the 2nd worst place in Canada for corona numbers as a hub? If they were really concerned about players and staff safety, Vancouver and Edmonton should be the hub .

Do differences in infection rates really have any impact on a venture like this? Everyone involved in the playoff tournament will be in isolation an strictly monitored. While the tournament might physically be in Toronto, it won't be subject to the same issues that the rest of Toronto might be dealing with.

Flames won’t be staying in Canada. No way do they switch the west to play in the east and vice versa. They’ll just make the home team stay at a hotel as well and say don’t worry about it.
