At this point - 4 points and having to pass 4 teams is wildly unlikely.
Plus they've got a tough schedule - Calgary, Colombus, Dallas, San Jose, Nashville, St.Louis

I haven't been this excited about a Flames team in years.... But I'm still so anxious about the playoffs. Hard to imagine a super deep run without a super hot goalie. What was the last goalie-by-committee team that made a good run?

The 2010 Philadelphia Flyers used two goalies to their Stanley Cup Finals run, Michael Leighton and Brian Boucher. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_Stanley_Cup_playoffs

Going back to the first post, can I just say that the phrase "alive, but showing no brain function" would be an excellent title for the next E=NG thread.
Well done PeteMoss, I literally laughed out loud when I read that phrase.
Back to the main topic, I voted for Arizona. If for no other reason than to watch the meltdown when Smith is named the Game 1 starter due to his excellent record against them...

Don’t be that “bring on Vegas” guy. We did that last time with Anaheim, remember what happened?

I remember that every one of the prior iterations of the Flames to meet the Anaheim Ducks were far inferior to this year's roster. Whatever happened in those playoff series is entirely irrelevant.
The Flames are better than the Vegas Golden Knights. There is every reason to believe they will beat them in seven games.

Chicago bowed out by losing to Philly.
Coyotes proved they don't really belong by losing to Florida.
Avs take the toughest game playing Dallas at home and are now sitting in the 2nd wild card. Their +10 goal differential makes it look like they belong there too. I think they've taken over the most likely 1st round opponent odds and had been my bet the last week anyway.

For me, Colorado is the preferred opponent, more so than the Yotes even.

Rittich might not have league leading numbers but he also has ONE regulation home loss on the season...ONE loss that would have been a loss in the playoffs

The other tough thing I noticed for the Canucks is the ROW tie breaker, they're last in that with 28. The 7 game home stand will help them slightly.

Updated odds from The Athletic model:
1t. Arizona 26%
1t. Colorado 26%
3. Dallas 15%
Vegas is down to 9% - Flames 91% to finish 1st.

Arizona blowing it I think their remainin schedule is a bit easier than the Avs, but they face each other Friday and that could very well be the determining factor

The Flames haven't won against Dallas since 2017. That said, they play on the 27th and have a chance to avoid dropping 6 straight.
