Flames NCAA prospects: 2022-23 season
https://www.theuconnblog.com/2022/9/...incoming-class
Huge turnover from the team that went to the Hockey East Championships last season. Four transfers and twelve freshmen.
Sergeev will be competing with sophomore Logan Terness for the starter's job.
I think he's one of the more interesting Flames prospects to watch this year.

Demetrios Koumontzis is set to return for his 5th season at Arizona State in their new Mullett Arena. After a solid freshman year, his play hasn't progressed much in recent years. Unless he has a really strong season, I doubt he'll be signed at the end of the season.
After three seasons at Michigan State, Josh Nodler is transferring to U-Mass for his senior year. He will also likely need a strong season to be considered for a contract offer.
Jake Boltmann is entering his third season at Notre Dame. As a defence-first d-man, it's hard to judge how well he has done.
Matt Coronato is entering his sophomore season at Harvard. If all goes well, this should be his final college season and he can sign with the Flames when Harvard's season is over.
After playing his post-draft season in the USHL, Arseni Sergeev is set to make his debut at UConn. The Huskies' Senior starting goalie last season played all but one game. Even though he's the freshman, Sergeev likely has a good shot at starting the majority of the games. The other 3 goalies on the roster have a combined 2 career NCAA games played. Meanwhile, Sergeev was the USHL goalie of the year last season.
The Flames' final NCAA-bound draft pick is Cade Littler, who is committed to Minnesota State. Unless something changes, he is expected to play one more season in the BCHL before starting college.

for Harvard, Abruzzese and Dornbach (C) have moved on, likely giving Coronato more minutes, especially on the PP.
I'd expect a big year for Matt; maybe close to 50 pts (FYI, only two players hit 50 pts in NCAA last year)

Harvard always starts later than most teams. They have an exhibition game on October 22 and their regular season starts the following week on October 28.
Most teams start October 1 with either an exhibition game or to start the regular season. ASU and UConn start their regular seasons on the first and Notre Dame and UMass start the following week.

Notre Dame is 3-2-1. Boltmann has 1 assist in 6 games.
UConn is 6-1-1. Sergeev has been splitting starts and is 3-1. He had his first loss on Saturday, 5-2 against BU. He had 38 saves, which was his most saves on the season despite allowing 4 goals.
UMass is off to a 4-0-1 start. This weekend, they beat Union 7-1 and 7-0. Nodler had no points on Friday but he had 2 assists on Saturday. He has 1 goal and 2 assists overall.
ASU opened their new arena last weekend and are 3-1 in the Mullett. They're 4-4-0 overall. Koumontzis has 3 goals and 1 assist so far.
Harvard played an exhibition game against Guelph on Saturday and laid a 9-0 beat down on their visitors from Ontario. Coronato had 1 goal in the game. They finally start their regular season schedule next weekend.
---------
Also, something else I discovered, one of Nodler's teammates at UMass is named Reed Lebster. I don't know how he is as a hockey player, but I bet his Cheeder Bee Besceets are great.

Sergeev had a roughing penalty in that game too. He's a feisty one.
