The Oilers are so weak they can't afford to have Skinner miss one game in the middle of January for the birth of his child.

Do they expect him to play all 82? Mind bottling.

Unreal.

"Hey could you miss the birth of your first child so we can watch McDavid pot a hat trick, finish -2 and lose in regulation?"

Love how they are so upset about Skinner and ignore the fact that the anointed number 1 goalie to start the season with the biggest contract is available.

It's not like Skinner has been great. He's been pulled in the two of his last 3 starts.

Imagine having to explain to your child someday that you missed their birth because you were so dedicated to the Edmonton Oilers. That would seem like good grounds for a child to apply for emancipation from their father.

That's their pride. It doesn't matter if they lose in regulation.

I'm not sure a future child would care so much. The present wife though? Probably wouldn't be very pleased.

Dom at the Athletic is predicting McDavid will score 834 goals and 1403 assists in his career if he finishes at age 40. 2237 points.

Interesting to me he's predicting 830+ goals for a guy who has never scored 50.

Ovi just cracked 800 and has scored 50 nine times. Plus a 48 and 49 goal campaign in recent seasons.

I guess it's easy to just throw crazy stuff out there about McDavid - the Faithful will just eat it up.

Seems pretty optimistic as McDavid has probably reached his peak. I don't know if he can maintain this type of point scoring as his legs start to give into his 30s

McDavid relies on speed for his production. Guys like Ovi & Sid maintain their production using different methods.

McDavid's production will taper faster than Sid or Ovi.

And again, McDavid has never scored 50.
