yes , the list of players the team let get away isn't as bad as i had thought . for the most part the flames have retained the high end talents that made an impact int he nhl

i still think the handling of phillips has been the wrong course of action but i'll happily be proven wrong there as well cause it will suck if we end up letting a skilled nhler get away from no reason .. especially if a rival team ends up being the landing spot since he is a western canadian kid

I don't think he's a guy that 10 years from now on we will look back on with regret. Though then again this is a site that still pines for the like of Garnett Hathaway and Ryan Lomberg as "ones that got away" so maybe I'm wrong.
But not sure how much of a proof point Juuso is.
Jusso is currently outperforming Calgary's new shiny toy D man on that bad team.

I would give him a shot too, I agree with you there...I just think people might be going a little overboard

How so? I haven't seen anything that points to this statement.

Oh god. I am happy for Juuso and he's doing well as a 4/5 guy in AZ but he is not better than Weegar by any measure.

Pretty low bar...he is an okay PP player with 4 points but he is not doing any heavy lifting on that team. Suggesting he is better than Weegar is laughable.

He plays on a bad team so it doesn't make sense to simply compare those numbers straight across against players playing on good teams.

If you look at relative stats (still somewhat unreliable, but better than the alternative), his ranks are

GF/60 21st (Weegar is 112th)
GA/60 18th (Weegar is 10th)
GF% 6th (Weegar 27th)
xGF/60 11th (Weegar 57th)
xGA/60 1st! (Weegar 8th)
xGF% 2nd! (Weegar 12th)
PP GF/60 21st (Weegar 67th)

By these "stats" he is better than Tanev too lol

tells you how much value they have...again he isn't doing the heavy lifting

Didn’t need to be an ass about it IMO

Honestly I don’t blame Adam Fox or any other prospect for not signing for this organization anymore, clearly not best for your career
Coronato probably looking at his height and our lineup knowing he can't crack the right side with stars like Ritchie and Lewis clogging things up.

Will he a sad day when he walks because Sutter chased him away.

For those who are ragging on Lucic - what is your specific critique of his game of late?

I haven't noticed much of a difference in his play vs. say Ritchie or Lewis, so I'm curious if I'm missing something.
Lucic doesn’t perform like Kaprizov when he gets the puck in the corner so he’s not an NHL player.

Not surprised by Sutters comments. There’s a better chance lucic plays on the top line regularly before Phillips gets in a game. Zero reason to call Phillips up if he’s not going to play.
