I don't know, pretty disappointed that Monahan's offense basically dried up completely in the third period and OT. Ya, he had a hat trick and an assist and is on pace for nearly 50 goals, but is he actually good? If we're going to be a Stanley Cup contender, we need a #1 center who can raise the level of play in a game like this.

Ugly game, but a huge 2 points and great efforts from Johnny, Mony, and Smith.
And that was a beauty play by Backs and Frolik on the OT winner.
Now let's move on to Washington and hopefully tighten up our defensive game.

Great give and go 2 on 1 by Backs and Frolik to finish it.
I've gotta say... I really like how Philly plays. They are an aggressive and exciting team. Looks like it would be really difficult to defend against them. Lots of movement in the offensive zone with switches and defensemen joining the cycle.
Too bad that Bennett and Jankowski were just centimeters off from winning it in regulation but a fun game nonetheless. Smith was great as the game went on.

This was a pretty clear case of a game won in spite of Gulutzan. It took a career game from Monahan just to be in it.
