Call-up? Rittich or Gillies?

Hopefully he's all right.

Highlite video seems to incidate that the play where Tcazchuk fell on top of Smiths head might be the cause. Hopefully it’s just the Flames being extra cautious after the Wideman incident.

My guess is concussion protocol after Tkachuk fell on him.

Flames PR suggested he was possible to return tonight. He didn't (obviously) but that doesn't sound too serious to me.

I think he's been hurt for awhile now, he's been slow to get up a few times and has looked like he is in pain a few times. Hope he heals up quick.

If the Tkachuk play was the cause of the injury, looks like he might have tweaked his neck a little? Not sure, tough to tell. Just hope it's minor and precautionary.

Lack would be the guaranteed starter but I would suspect he would have a short leash.

I think with 6 games in 11 days, and 3 games in 4 days on that trip with a back-to-back you'll see a goalie brought up. I am pretty sure a second goalie will get some play time in.

I'd call up Gillies.

I'd guess that Rittich gets the call this time to back up Lack, who starts.

Lack played well tonight considering the circumstances. Coming into a game isn't the same as starting a game... It's not easy. Yes, it's his job as the backup to be ready, but it's still not easy.

Hoping Smith is fine though!

Gulutzan was asked in the post game press conference if Lack had been hurt would Smith have been able to return or would they have resorted to the emergency goalie in that situation, and he did an "aw geez I didn't even think about that." To me that means that no, Smith would not have been able to return to the game tonight.

The moment that Beasley put out the call to any potential replacement goalies to report to guest services, I am out of my seat in a flash.

Sounds like today was the closest I'll ever get to that dream, haha.

As per 960: “Lavk said Smith told him as he came off the ice at the end of the 1st, he was going in.”
