Matt Murray held the Pens in the game in the 1st...'Hawks dominated play for much of the period. Murray stopped 2 breakaways, and got help from his goalposts twice. 'Hawks did scrape in a PPG by Forsling (ironically, it was a Murray penalty, as he had tripped Wingels). The Pens were able to turn momentum late, with a ridiculous dive to get a late PP. 1-0 after the 1st, Pens will have about 20 seconds of PP to start the 2nd.

Crawford out to the quiet room for concussion protocol. Malkin, racing for a loose puck got Crawford in the head with his thigh.
After about 4 minutes of play...Crawford returns.

I know it's early, but man there's a lot of low scoring games tonight. All the goals were used up this afternoon I guess.

The Habs are considering rebuilding? LOL, maybe they should have kept their most promising D prospect.

Murray did what he could to keep the Pens in the game...but the Hawks answer a SHG by Hunwick with a PPG by Anisimov, And an apparent GTG by Guentzel gets wiped, correctly, by a Maata goalie interference. The Hawks get the 2-1 win, as Crawford stands on his head to steal the 2 points and hand the Pens their first home loss.

Crawford has to be one of the most underrated players in the league, he has been the Hawks saviour to start the year.

You are right on that point, he's man elite goalie that never really got credit for the Hawks SC wins.
Many assumed he was simply taking advantage part of an elite team, when in fact he's was an essential element of those teams.
He may be as important as Kane to their current team, and he's the main guy keeping them in the playoff race.

Help, save, whatever.

What a game by the Leafs! Marner and Matthews should stay together. I copied this from the Athletic but these lines would be amazing. 4th line sucks but probably would be a good checking line.
Zach Hyman – Auston Matthews – Mitch Marner
Patrick Marleau – Nazem Kadri – William Nylander
James van Riemsdyk – Tyler Bozak – Connor Brown
Matt Martin – Dominic Moore – Leo Komarov

Habs fans are in a lather after last nights shellacking by the Leafs - lots of chatter that Bergevin is going to start making some significant player moves.

Oh-oh. I wouldn't want Bergevin near that team at all if I was a Habs fan. Luckily I'm a Leafs fan so I'm kind of loving how badly he has screwed that team up.
Years from now we will talk of the Curse of PK as he wins cups in Nashville and the Habs are trash.

The two trades that Doug Armstrong made at last year's draft were great. Braden Schenn has really fit in well and I'm sure the Blues barely notice Reaves absence. What robbery as it's Schenn for Reaves and Lohtera and a 2nd essentially.
