I had forgotten that play and injury with Buck, that was maybe the craziest, and most awesome, DP I have ever seen.
Some of you maybe just see Buck as an old man yelling at clouds but he was a hard-nosed baseball player - I was always a fan. And then of course, he managed the Jays for a while.

... and the less said about that the better. I don't think Buck is crazy, but he's way way way to ol'timey and misinforms viewers as a result. I think he has a good voice for the booth but boy oh boy could I have used less diatribes about what constitutes playing baseball "the right way" and man-crush fawning of Derek Jeter.

I couldn't disagree more. Buck is the best in the game. As a younger kid trying to get into baseball he helped me understand the game over the years and I love hearing his thoughts. Even recently with the Jays hot dogging and poor baserunning he didnt shy away to rip into it. There is a "right way" to play the game, and from that video you can tell he walked the talk.

Yeah I don't think Buck is as hardcore as some others.
I think he more stories though then he is telling. With the Jays he was on the downside of the career that started in the mid 70s and was mostly backing up Ernie Whitt in Toronto in the mid 80s. But was part of the 1985 team to get to the ALCS, and he somehow moved his way up from the broadcast to manager of the team for 2 years, and then back to manager.
That said I prefer him as color (as he was with Hughson in TSN days, and now again with Shulman).

Thank goodness they did the right thing. Hope Gurriel and Espinal are healthy, but regardless they’re going to be pinch hitters if anything. Good Moreno is there too. Logic prevailed.
Edit. Thought I seen Gurriel but it’s fine. JBJr is a good choice to settle the team down a bit.
Yeah...he went through a life altering experience, and clearly has a different perspective on things now.
He should do whatever it is that makes him the happiest.
Happy to hear him do this series if things are coming to an end in broadcast booth though, and hope like hell the Jays give him something to be giddy about.
Lineup looks good to me. Might have flipped Tapia and Merrifield but that’s splitting hairs.
Jays are teasing that Edwin Encarnacion will be throwing out the first pitch. Nothing better to get the crowd going than the guy who walked off their only other home wildcard appearance
Based on their WRC this season, both bats are an absolute must in the lineup.
And Kirk likely catches game 1 as he has been Manoah’s catcher all season
As you called it, starting lineup for today's game
G Springer (R) CF
B Bichette (R) SS
V Guerrero Jr. (R) 1B
A Kirk (R) C
T Hernández (R) RF
M Chapman (R) 3B
R Tapia (L) LF
D Jansen (R) DH
W Merrifield (R) 2B

I have been so restless the last couple days waiting for this game. So nervous. Going to have to crack a couple beers for this one. I already have goosebumps thinking about how loud the Rogers centre is going to be.
