I had gotten tired of the sh**** service at my mechanic shop. The last thing I needed to complete the break was for them to get my winter tires and rims out of their storage. This required four business days for them to do, and a service appointment for me to complete. I'm not sure why I need a service appointment to just pick up four tires, but whatever.
The appointment was today. When I got there, it took them 20 minutes to find my appointment. Then it took 35 minutes for the go-fer to find my tires. When I got my tires back, they weren't clean and didn't have the rocks picked out of the treads.
Then they had the balls to ask me about why I am no longer using their business...
It would be annoying to drive 2 vehicles with less than 85 L total space.
Even my 2019 golf holds 50 L
I didn't say they were currently empty!
My truck is 70L, the Impreza is about 50L. I rarely put more than half a tank in my truck though, since I don't drive it much and don't need gas getting old. So 85L happens to be the perfect amount.

You expected them to pick rocks out of your treads?

LOL, that was my thought.
I've been in the car business my entire adult life, and have never heard of a dealer/shop doing this. It just seems so pompous. Like the waiter feeding you caviar while giving you a foot massage at a restaurant or something.

Why is traffic so effing bad tofus. It’s like there are double the amount of cars out there. Every road and intersection is busier than normal. Took me an extra 15 mins to get hkme today

I have to admit I've never heard of shops doing that. It's a pretty tedious job as there's usually hundreds of those chips embedded in the tread. I've done it a few times on my winter tires but came to the conclusion it's just too much work so I just go over the tires and remove the big ones.
Every time I've gotten my tires back for the last 7 years (13 swaps), they have...
There's absolutely no way in hell they've done this. It could take a couple hours at a shop rate of probably, like, $120ish an hour. It's just not a thing - and certainly not one anybody will do for free for you. And it's totally unnecessary unless there is some actual noise/issue with a large and deeply imbedded rock. They'll just come out of the tires as you drive. It's not like tires go around picking up so many rocks we're all just driving on rock treads. I've had to yank a rock out of a dually before, but in all my years I've never heard of a shop picking out rocks from tire treads. That's preposterous.

This makes me want to inspect my tires now when I take em in. My place does a great job. Have they...have they been clearing rocks out of my treads this entire time and I've just never noticed?
