A funny one from a couple years ago. It was a simple FoI thread about a player for player hockey trade between two small market teams and this poster came in out of nowhere going off about political Qanon filtered media Trump BS and then didn’t like that no one wanted any part of it. They had a really old sign up date but no activity for the last 19 years. They then went off unhinged on multiple people in pm and on the forum over the course of a day and a half.

I made a one liner sarcastic hint that the thread was about hockey and not his political takes and then he went off in pm for two days until he was suspended.

Yeah, but isn't kind of super pathetic to get butt-hurt in a conversation in a public forum to the point where you're DMing people to let them know that you are upset as though they should care or do anything to appease your hurt feelings? I don't get how you could think it's normal to PM somebody just to let them know you don't like what they have to say. The actual normal thing to do is not care and just ignore them lol. Or, you know, just discuss with them your issue within the forum.

I would be annoyed to get a pm from somebody whining to me that they don't like what I have to say. I'm not making you listen to me lol.

Yeah. In terms of how this government operates, it's basically been 2005 for the last 17 years.

It's Jurassic Park up here and in the dinosaurs are running things.

Goes for national services too. Twice I've forgotten/lost track of my information for the mycra account access and both times I laughed at how i had to wait for a code to get physically mailed to me. Is that actually necessary to ensure security in this day and age?

That and hearing the one poster's story about his wife's EI delays in the system and it's becoming just stupid.

Apparently being depressed causes chest pain sometimes.

One of the posters who thanked this comment has sent me PMs complaining about how I post (which I ignored). I LOL’d when I saw the thanks.

I think it's disappointing these disagreements didn't happen in public for the amusement of the rest of us.

Should be like a restricted period for classified materials, where it all goes public a month after the dispute.

Hmmm, some tips to up the entertainment value:

-One of you needs to threaten to beat the other up. It could be subtle and internet-like by saying something to the effect of "I dare you to say that to my face..." Don't forget the ellipsis, let it hang in the air

-Not nearly enough bad spelling or grammar. Throw everything you know about 'their,' 'there,' and 'they're' out the window

-Always assume wrongly on purpose. I think that's what people on Twitter must do. It has to be. Total random stuff out of left field like "I expect nothing less from a Belgian" or "That's easy to say when you were born with a silver spoon up your arse"

-Never underestimate the power of the threat of a threat of a lawsuit

-Go for the username and avatar. People are proud of their online visage, some have spent years, decades cultivating their identity as represented through their handle or avatar. Tear 'em apart

-Remember, physical wounds heal. However, emotional scars can last a lifetime

I’d say it depends on the relationship. When our kids and my best friend’s kids got married the gifts from my wife and all of them got $500. My friend’s son will never get married so we lucked out.

For nephews and nieces $250. Others, $200. We’e attended one destination wedding where we were told no gifts because of the cost of a Mexico trip, and no one gave gifts.

Also a reminder to ensure your kids are wearing their seatbelts properly and that extending car seat use can save lives. No one should be ejected from Vehicles these days
