Monopoly, Hotels, Payday, Settlers, Scattergories, Life, and a couple others. I used to, and still do, love board games. All these kids who grew up in the 00's are missing out on quality family/friends/peers bonding time.

Let's boycott video games, and bring board games back to the mainstream.

Hotels! I've played so many games of hotels with my high school friends. Sadly, most of them aren't in Calgary anymore.

I refuse to boycott video games though. No reason I can't enjoy both!

Sorry!

Or it's cards for Hand and Foot Canasta girls against guys.

Both can be brutal games to turn a loving household into a house of hate.

Axis & Allies is my all time favorite, but I think it makes a better online game than a board game. They should remake it cause the 1998 (I think) A&A was awesome, but a little out dated now.

Also, check out James's Rolfe's reviews for board games... (that's AVGN if you've heard of him).

The gf and I play board games a lot, mostly Scrabble and Monopoly. I own Stratego as well and it's a lot of fun if you're playing against someone who knows how to play.

Always been told I'd be into Settlers, but have never found a group of people with a) The game and b) the time.

Dominion is an AMAZING game.

Catan is great.

Clue, Monopoly and Risk are irreplaceable classics.

Caylus (2-5 players I think)
Puerto Rico (3-5 players)
Dominion (2-4 with only one base set, 2-6 with both)
Power Grid (3-4 I think)

Those 4 are probably my favourites. Some other good ones include:

Tigris & Euphrates
Hacienda
Race for the Galaxy
Amun Re
Modern Art
Go
Ingenious

I own Settlers but haven't played it in almost a decade. Many of the above games are just far better. Don't really play much Carcasonne either.

Puerto Rico and Caylus have almost no luck involved, just pure decision making.

Not that it really does anything.
Now that summer is over, a game night could be arranged. PM me if you want to be added to the CP group.

I have Race For The Galaxy and first expansion, but have not played it yet. Would like to try it out.

I think a CP game of Diplomacy would be great.

Better yet if all 8 (or is it 7, been years and years) players have never met before.
