Trade came together over a couple days. I really like Dahlin but Buffalo is such a mess and I realized I needed more assets to play with. Rielly is a top pairing D in his mid 20s and krebs is a high end prospect. Grant needed more pro players on entry level deals so happy to be able to provide that to him.

obviously paid a big price here but adding Dahlin really helps my economic state going forward and he's supremely talented.
Rielly never played a game for me - having spent his entire second stint on the I.R.

Dahlin, Hughes, Makar - gives me the 3 elite young offensive dmen in the league.

Goffie had been after me for a while now on Burns. I am kind of torn on the deal because we wanted to really build around the two guys we shipped out. No real A prospect coming back but hopes and dreams instead. Hoping the volume makes up for the lack of high end prospect.

I think Montreal got the best player, but you got great future! Now you have to do something with that to turn that team around.

When the playoffs are done, or near done, there will be a crapload of teams dumping players trying to get back under the cap. Most are maxxed out and have used their Cheese overage. Thats when you need to be ready. Right now you get rid of players who are not long term on the team and who can help playoff bound teams with depth. Good start.

Hard deal to assess so probably means it's fairly even.
But I think for where you are - it's really good. Key that you move declining assets for ones that have potential to improve.

Capitals have traded 2021 1st PHO, Filip Johansson, 1st owed to us by NYI and Casey deSmith to the Blues for Scott Mayfield, Tristan Jarry, 2021 2nd NAS and ECHLer Amir Miftakhov. Our franchise really needed a goalie and Jarry fits that. Mayfield is a defence first player we believe we can use in the sim.

We probably overpaid a little but meh we like Capn and felt a tad bad after beating him last game.

Buffalo has added a lot of defense to the roster recently but our GM felt it was at the expense of some offense. We are addressing that by adding Cam Atkinson. Cam shores up the 2nd line and he's under contract for another season after this one. Although I think Dreidger is going to get a nice rerate next season, Aaron Dell is the better sim goalie this season and I'm happy to strengthen that position going into the playoffs.
