Default Sabres and Ducks shake things up

After many hours of back and forth with many GMs Buffalo finally signed off on a deal with Anaheim.

Going to Anaheim:
Pastrnak
Pacioretty
2023 BUF 2nd

Going to Buffalo:
Fiala
JT Miller
Kurashev
2023ANA 1st

Thanks to Simmer for hanging in there through an active day. I think this deal works well for both clubs.

The Ducks have inquired about Pastrnak for a year, so with a small window open we decided to be aggressive.

The deal was actually two separate ones:

Fiala + 1st (23) + Kurashev --> Pastrnak
Miller --> Pacioretty + 2nd (23)

In the first one, Fiala is having another breakout year and has nearly as many points as Pastrnak. Adding a 1st and Kurashev who solidified his spot on the Hawks this year I think is a bit on the steep side, but I knew I had to overpay for Pasta.

The Pacioretty deal came together faster. Sabres needed a Center, and while I wasn't planning on moving Miller, I wanted to help the Sabres out. Pacioretty should get a nice bump in ratings with the year he's having and his contract price isn't bad. I hate that he is a UFA in a few years and this is a bit of a short term move, but I like Pacioretty's scoring ability which hopefully translates in the SIM. The 2nd was added for me giving up youth and RFA contract.

All in all, there were about 30 back and forths over 48hrs but it was a lot of fun negotiating.

Thanks SportsJunky for the chats and good luck.
