Flyers Acquire Lars Eller

In what we believe will be our final move of the season, the Flyers have acquired Lars Eller from the LA Kings.

Eller was fantastic for the Sens in their run to the finals last year and is a proven playoff performer in the sim. We have had him on our radar all year and finally made a move to get him.

Eller will center the 3rd line with Ehlers and Svehchnikov on his sides. I think it would be cool to envision how much confusion it would cause to whoever calls the game, having Ehlers and Eller on the same line.

The forward core going into the post season now looks like:

Bailey 72 - Matthews 78 - Schenn 72
Kapanen 71 - Lindholm 75 - Oshie 72
Ehlers 72 - Eller 72 - Svechnikov 73
Neal 69 - Richardson 65 - Coyle 72

Eller is a nice pickup.

Eller is awesome. I had a couple of offers, but went with the pure prospect based one. I liked Dufour at the draft, and would have placed him in the third, even though he went later. So, for me, the return was (equivalent) 3 thirds, and an additional 2nd if Eller re-signs.

The official name change to the Philadelphia Ellers for the duration of the playoffs, was the clincher.
