The teams know each other well from their romantic getaway to China together, so I expect a competitive game.

I'll believe that when I see it. I've been a Flames fan long enough to know not to expect anything.

There top line, other top 9 centers, starting goalie and their number 1 (if you still count it as Chara), just 7 players, make up 60% of their cap space.

That must be one of the least expensive bluelines in the league. Bruins have a decent amount of cap space ($5 million).

Lately, yes. The Flames last beat the Bruins on 25 Nov 2016 in Boston, and have gone 0-2-1 since then. But over the course of the last four seasons have a respectable record of 4-3-1 v. Boston, with three of those wins coming either in OT or the shootout.
I am betting that this is a very close game. It should be a good one!

Senators have the least expensive blueline. It's under 10M. But yeah, Bruins aren't far behind.
And with Ceci on LTIR, the active defender being paid the most by the Senators is Phaneuf...and he plays for the Kings.

I feel like while our top line is the most dangerous offensively they are also a bit of a liability defensively against a powerhouse Boston 1st line. If I was Peters I would ‘shelter’ them by starting the game with either the Backlund line (best chance at keeping the game scoreless) or gamble a matchup with Bennett/Dube/Ryan/etc who can potentially out pace Marchand/Bergeron/Pastrnak.
I hope Smith looks large and in charge, otherwise I’m genuinely curious how Rittich would look defending against top scorers this season.
However it unfolds, Go Flames Go!

Hm....I said not to expect 'anything.'

Maybe we win, maybe we lose, I expect nothing.

Hamonic just stepped on the ice in a yellow-Don't-Hit-Me jersey. First practice with the group since his surgery.

Looks like Dube might miss tonight
Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Travis Hamonic taking part in morning skate in a yellow no-contact jersey.
No Dillon Dube, though; he missed practice yesterday and is dealing with a lower body injury. #Flames

Flames don't have a good record against Boston in the last while.
Lost last 3 in the regular season and the 2 in games in China.
Hopefully that changes tonight!
4-2 Flames
2 x Tkachuk, 1 x Gio, 1 x Hanifin and a furious, stick-breaking Rask!

Very excited to see Bennett-Jankowski-Neal in an actual competitive game!
Until Peters switches things up because one of the other lines isn't producing.
Very excited to see Bennett-Jankowski-Neal take a shift together in an actual competitive game!

I still hate that 2nd PP unit.
I want to see:
Bennett - Czarnik - Neal
Hanifin - Backlund

Bruins at Flames has historically been a good game... 4-3 Flames win thanks to the awesomeness of the retro jerseys.
