Default Two NHL Superstars surprised the only Kenyan hockey team in heartwarming video

Thought people would enjoy this video. Kudos to Tim Hortons for pulling this off with Crosby and Mackinnon. An experience I'm sure those kids will never forget.

That was pretty cool, obviously Tim Horton's benefits from this sort of thing but good on them anyway. Can't imagine there are many rinks in Kenya.

This is a heartwarming video, love it. I know it definitely benefits Tim Horton's but I don't mind, this is a fun way to gain access to a totally new market.

I wonder how involved Crosby and MacKinnon where in planning this sort of thing. Who found out about these guys in Kenya?

Say what you will about Tim's and these sort of campaigns, but man they do this stuff right.

That was awesome.

And what an honour for Crosby and MacKinnon it must have been to be part of that.

There is 1 rink at a hotel in Nairobi and that is the only rink. A 2nd cousin of mine lives in Nairobi and helped set up the team and plays there so im sure he knows the team.

That is super cool. Take the Corporate shilling out of it and thats a fantastic story!

Not to mention, I'm sure a team of Canadian nobodies can probably destroy Kenyans that are just learning but throw Crosby and Mackinnon on the Kenyan team and thats just not fair.

Anyways, thats awesome. I really admire their spirit to want to learn something like that, be it hockey or anything really, just something so foreign to them. That spirit of adventure really should be nurtured.

Yeah, it's been pretty neat to see companies like them (and I think only think of Molson ATM) spending their marketing budget on big ideas and doing them right.

Their involvement with youth sports is also top notch. Timbits program for tyke hockey, sponsorship of youth soccer. Real good corporate citizens.

Very cool, and kudos to Tims and to Crosby and Mckinnon.

And not to take anything away from this but Hayley Wickenheiser, through her Wickfest female tournament is bringing a girls team from India to Calgary this year, they will play in the midget division. This initiative has been a few years in the making.

So yay to Canada and Canadians in general for spreading our game across the world and stepping up to bring others here to play it in an atmosphere they probably never dreamed of.

Yeah, I know foaming out the mouth hockey fans know who he is but even he said he wasn't recognized when he was shooting these commercials. So yeah, the point stands.
