Firefox vs Chrome

Anyone not like the new version of Firefox (29)? One thing that ticks me off about it is the fact they made the reload button stagnant in place, you can't move it and it is super small. I don't mind the look of FF and I've been using it for years, but with that one change as well as the amount of memory it uses (seems to be getting worse and FF and Flash do not play well together at all), I've been thinking about a switch to Chrome.

So who here uses Chrome? Better than Firefox? Who says FF is better? Just curious about experiences using either browser. I'm trying Chrome right now (as I type this) and it feels not bad...just different.

Been using nothing but Chrome since late 08 / early 09.

All browsers have they're quirks, but I find Chrome better than Firefox and I haven't seen what IE is offering since IE6 or so.

Used to be a big fan of Firefox. Tried chrome one day and loved it - I have a hard time using anything else now.

Chrome does seem to be snappier than FF for sure so far.

I listen to Slacker quite often and noticed one thing so far with Chrome...I have to turn the overall volume up quite a bit to hear it at the same level that FF had it at. 25 was pretty loud on my system volume with FF. With Chrome, I'm at about 60 to reach the same volume. Both volume bars on the browsers are at max. Interesting...

And yeah, Chrome is using the same amount of RAM that FF was using with these open tabs. Not a lot of savings there really.

Haven't tried Firefox in a while. When I first moved to chrome, chrome seemed a good bit faster. Now whenever I try to attempt using anything else I'm lost without the omnibox.

Chrome for me.

I still prefer the old menu bar and customized menu bar background so I use an add-on altered Firefox.

Oh god don't switch to Chrome for memory efficiency. I had to eventually start using Pocket to keep Chrome from eating 4, 5, 6GB of RAM.

lol...yeah, I'm noticing that now that I have been using it for a bit and have a few tabs open. Not really much better than FF at all really.

Yeah, not being able to move the reload button back where I had it, is a real pain. Also the Forecast Fox extension no longer worked and the bottom add-on bar was discontinued. Why do some people want to change things around when it isn't any better, just different. In fact it's worse.

I did find a workaround for Forecast Fox though if any are interested. Go here and download the link and the add-on bar.

I wouldn't mind trying Chrome but google is just to damn invasive and I've found it included on other downloads when I haven't asked for it. That's virus intrusive in my book.

I've stuck with Firefox and I still like it. I have no problems with Chrome anymore. I used to have a couple of problems with Chrome (probably because I didn't want to change), but I've been using it a little more often lately and I could go either way, I just stick with Firefox because it is what I am most familiar with.

Chrome is essentially a must for me. Our office is fully integrated with Google. And while Google office apps works okay with IE and FF, it was obviously built to be used with Chrome. I've been a Chrome supporter since the beginning though, so I was super happy when we converted to Google from Exchange a couple years back. I just prefer the tab control and management more.

Actually a little OT, but having our office integrated into Google has been such a boon. At first, it was just for the e-mail, but now more and more people in our company are using the other features. Working on shared documents across the company is great, as is sharing desktops and video conferencing through Hangouts. Actually a lot of our project managers create Google sites for larger projects where they post updates and share project-related files. Pretty awesome stuff.

I only use Chrome for viewing YouTube. I have a Chrome extension that blocks all the ads and pre-loads the video, great for sketchy hotel WiFi.

I'm not a fan of the latest Firefox, either. Always searching for that damned refresh button.

Anyone try Opera recently?

We shouldn't have to but here's an add-on that moves the Reload Button to the left hand end of the Address bar. Seems to work well.
