Think of the sort of demographic that is going to answer such a poll. If I'm getting baked, I'm not watching CTV News or going on their website to respond to a poll. I'm probably watching funny animal videos on YouTube and eating peanut M&Ms from the bag.
I think most people who didn’t do it before aren’t starting.. I mean I don’t know anyone excited for today except the couple people I know who smoke who are just happy to have things easier.
It’s not like weed was hard to get. Would take like 20 mins any time of the day to get if you wanted it before haha.

The people who are worried about what this will do to the youth are from a pretty darn naive group of people. They'd be horrified to be flies on the wall at weekend parties, seeing exactly what is available to the party goers when there are no parents around.

My almost-70-year-old parents haven't smoked weed since their 20's but are super stoked to start up again.
I warned them it's gotten stronger. We'll see if they listened.

Medicine Hat a town of 60,000 has 3 dispensaries. There is no reason CALGARY couldn’t of had a dozen open today.
There is only 1 legal store in B.C. 1 freaking store!!!
There are still the dispensaries aroumd but they will slowly start closing up shop like many already have done before today to comply with the law so they can apply for a license then reopen
I'm really only excited for pre loaded vape pens, heard they are super cheap, convenient and last a long time. Though I might avoid them in the long term if it ends up being a lot of waste.
Won't be legal for a year minimum. Health Canada says they are skeptical on them. Edibles and preloaded vape pens wont be legal for at least a year
Will be interesting to see what the US has to say about this. Could cause border problems.

hahahah - I haven't done that since before I had kids, which was a generation ago, and my son told me the same thing. He said if you are going to try it start out with something with really low THC - laughing that anything else would knock me out. The lowest THC they had on the OCS was 6%.
Saw pictures yesterday of the 2 stores in Edmonton with lineups around the block. One of my friends made it in, and said it was awesome, bought 3 different types, all came with little cards with description etc, that looked like they were written by restaurant reviewers or holiday planners.
So, out on the golf course was kind of funny, lots of people that used to be mid to high level discreet, are now zero to low level discreet. golf course still trying to come up with some kind of policy, but I can't see what they can do.
One woman was fretting over whether women will start "using" during pregnancy. As though suddenly women will think that now that weed is legal, it must be safe to consume during pregnancy, when it's usual comparables are cigarettes and alcohol.
Come on, people.
Actually in some places they prescribe medical marijuana for morning sickness as it has fewer side effects and is less damaging to the fetus than the other drugs that are prescribed for the same thing.
