And in comparison I think Wurst was complaining that their rent was too high and their property tax was crazy. So it does seem like an odd move to me.
I'm surprised they didn't just wrap it up and call it a day. You can't replace what Ranchmans had at that location. I mean, I saw Honeymoon Suite there.

Yeah, I saw Corb play there, back in the early 2000's, & some of that nostalgia, will be lost forever for sure.

Makes too much sense. The branding local and internationally is worth a fair bit. Them opening a similar setup to Cowboys would be a great idea. Plus it would ride out COVID.

That does make alot of sense.
Perhaps, use the 4th St location, as a temporary staging location; market themselves as more central, and then make the permanent move to the new entertainment district.

The chances of relocating don't look good since the bank has seized assets from the owners, including rights to the name.

Why don’t they find a new place on the music mile? We need a proper entertainment district in Calgary. Having ranchmans in the middle of nowhere was always a pain in the ass if you wanted to do a little two steppin.

17,000 square feet would be hard to pull off in the core?

I wouldn't be planning on opening a new club until the new normal is established, and one understands how social norms evolve.
Conceptually it makes sense though that Ranchman's would be a part of a larger entertainment district around the new arena.
Opportunity to create a strip like in Nashville. Heck have all the brands there: Cowboys (already there), Ranchman's, and even bring back the Dusty's name.

It happens a lot when people see a goldmine like Ranchman's for sale. They buy it and acquire a huge amount of capital debt that wasn't fairly factored in to the goldmine numbers when they purchased it. Peters' was like that but they survived. Happens all the time even without covid.

We need something to do with the empty office towers. Clubs could take up multiple floors. Two steppin with mountain views.

I've always though a downtown office building would be awesome for an epic paintball course.

Go-karts. Just install steel guard rails in front of the windows.

Why not all three? Guns, go-karts and alcohol mix well.
Wait... go-kart paintball. That sounds fun.

So....Real-Life Mario Kart?
I'd bet that would do well actually.

Load your launcher with CO2 grenades to starve their engine of oxygen, then you nail them with the paintball gun.
