It probably did, but it’s business and it’s a salary cap era. If I were to guess I’d guess he’s pissed. I also bet it’s got little to do with money and more to do with 1-way /2-way thing

how do you end up having to settle for the contract that you had on the table two months ago? Seems like a big L for his agent. Ruthless by Tre.

That leaves just under $7.25 million to get Tkachuk signed (using Valimaki's LTIR space) with a 23 man opening-night roster and no other moves.

Happy to have Eat Bread signed. Now go prove for a full season that you're worth more. I triple dog dare you!

I can think of one team that's not getting any discount when he scores 25+ goals next year

What a waste of time that was for Eat Bread. Bet he had a mulligan on that one. At least he only missed a few days.

If he scores 25 the Flames will be happy to pay him.
He has to earn it first though.

What’s the point of playing hardball over a two way contract when it would be completely idiotic to waive him and he would get claimed anyway?

We’ll see if they build more goodwill over this season

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
In the end, Mangiapane’s camp had next to no leverage, which is why team was surprised it took so long. Calgary brass knew they had high ground and waited him out.

Sounds like Mangiapane will report to camp tomorrow, back on the ice later in the week. #Flames
