Friedman says teams will start pushing for Simmonds
mentions in particular SJ, CGY, and WIN
says Philly has to want to do the deal and be sufficiently out of the playoffs

I wouldn't mind him at the right cost. Concern for me on some of the other acquisitions is high prices so far. Two potential firsts for zucarello is insane even though the conditions are unlikely.
His underlying numbers are better than Hayes overall and he's tough. Stone would still be the dream but sensing the cost will be too much. Toffoli would be a nice rw on that second line too.

I don't see Simmonds adding any more value or anything different then Neal TBH. I mean he drives the net a little more and he plays a grittier game overall, but I don't think it's an add that would be exactly mind blowing. Simmonds from like 2011 era? Sure

Last sentence doesn’t make sense. Philly plays tonight and that’s it before the deadline. So depending how tonight and the one game tomorrow with the Rags go, will determine their “sufficiency” in the playoffs?

I'd rather trade Valimaki+Kylington+ for Stone than move fair value for Simmonds.
He's a total waste of time on this roster.
Best case, do neither.
