Can we stop with the crappy memes in this thread? Tweets are fine, but the memes have been so incredibly unfunny and they just drag, the discussion down, IMO.

I was definitely kidding. As in “what would deter Rudy!? A lawsuit? Charges? HA!”

Reading about it, it appears it isn’t admissible in court. Which makes sense.

Okay, for some middle ground how about only post them if they're actually funny versus having a loose tie-in via sharing a common word with the post above.

Interestingly, this is the first time I recall the discussion actually being dragged down by them.

No, wait, that's not interesting at all.

2. Trump resigns tomorrow. Pence takes over and pardons Trump. Could the pardon include his two impeachments to wipe them out?

3. Trump sticks around and pardons a bunch of people including himself. Could he wipe out his impeachments with his pardons?

4. Can the Senate Impeachment trial be effective from the date of the House vote as opposed to when the Senate actually voted? If so, could they negate anything he does including Trump pardoning himself?
1. Yes he can still be impeached after resigning. An impeachment is essentially a trial to determine wrongdoing (unlike the 25th amendment, which is merely a mechanism to transfer power).

2/3. Impeachments are unpardonable, whether it's your own or someone else's. The terms of pardons in the constitution specifically exclude impeachments.

Michael Cohen testified against Trump didn’t he?

So what’s the deal there?

Didn't Trump get $8m or something in donations to fight the election? And he's too greedy to even give part of someone else's money to pay Giuliani? Yikes

He got like $250M in donations, and had only spent $12M or something according to the last SEC filing.

It's probably the funniest part of this entire thing. The con man who desperately tried to sell himself as a billionaire his whole life likely only became a billionaire once he could grift at a presidential level.

Let's not forget Trump spent all of 2016 saying he didn't need donations because he was so rich and that is how he would drain the swamp. Yet they have managed to suck their supporters dry since then.
