The neat thing about sports focused social media is that it does being together different viewpoints, classes, races, and political viewpoints. It does still create a bubble around geography. It’s how a place like CP gets accused of being too right wing and too left wing on the same day.
I think this is true about most fandom based social media. It exposes you to people outside of your bubble. That’s not to say their aren’t bubbles within these communities based on who is interested in a particular topic(particularly gender based).
Its really the political issues in the generic social media where you are sorted by an algorithm into a group rather than choosing a group that leads to much of the problem.

We got our new fence put in. It looks pretty good. What irked me is that the contractor drilled new post holes and let the clay sit on the grass and then it got trampled in. WTF. Is it even worth trying to recover it or is it like chewing gum in hair?

If you put "free clay" up on Kijiji, no one will come take it for you. Though that was pre-Covid. Perhaps with the grass integrated you could sell it to some hippy's to make a mud house out of. "Woa, don't remove the grass. It's structural grass, man".

While I agree that CP isn't as narrow of an echo-chamber as some social media, it still skews young, male, and educated/white-collar. This would be a very different forum if the active participants reflected the demographics and attitudes of the overall Flames fan population.

I have two legacy pieces of technology that I use. An old laptop running XP that I had used almost exclusively for video conferencing, and a Blackberry because it continued to do everything that I required and saw no reason to change.
Google recently did a complete upgrade to their platform that probably nobody noticed. Google Meet now goes to a 'not supported on this platform' screen and gmail now has a loud warning beep that is activated on Blackberry at random times, citing a login error that doesn't exist.
When I look into the issue, it seems that some new age trackers didn't work on an unsupported Microsoft OS and legacy phones, so lack of continued support has been modified to active sabotage, so force the full Google suite to function, or not at all. Whether you want that functionality or not.
GG that Google effectively just decided that I can't use my two bricks to do the most simple of activities.

I think it's unlikely the CP demographic skews young.

I guess it depends on what we're considering as young.

I’m finding out many posters are older than I thought they were.
Time flies! Can’t believe I’ve been on here since 2008.

Exactly. For instance, I believe Cliff is about as old as dirt, so of course it seems to him like CP skews 'young'.

Celebrated Square Root Day

In the early to mid 2000's it probably skewed pretty young (I remember there being mainly early to mid 20's guys back then). But now a days it hasn't seen a whole lot of new sign ups, with a lot of posters with pre-2010 signups or returning under new accounts.
I'd bet the demographics are lot of older guys now (30-50 years old).

Stop harassing him you ageist heathen! Hes old!
The elderly barely know how to vote, you cant ask them to engage in Polls! That just scares and confuses them.
Try calling him up as a Reader's Digest salesman....that will earn his trust!

A poll was done in 2014 asking when did you graduate. Gives you an idea of the age demographics.
