Yup exactly. My neighbor asked me for mine once when his Telus line went down, but I know him well and he mows my lawn shovels my walk like a good neighbor, so it was all good.
But the other sketchy dudes who live next door to me, if they asked me? I would assume they are looking up some kind of illegal porn and would never give it to them. I'd just tell them mine is down too.

I know that. You’re a planner, smart, ethical and not a salesman.
I also took your comments as being in jest.

I think it's time to put Memorial Drive back to normal. No one is using it anyway and there's lots of distance on the double paths along the river. It's just a feel good thing at this point that adds five to ten minutes to the drive.

When a road is down to one lane in each direction due to construction and construction signs are put up clearly showing no left turns are allowed at the intersection.
How many people still try to turn left and back up traffic?? Way too many. I don't know why people can't grasp the concept.

VRBO and Evolve Vacation Rentals grind my gears. We have cancelled our vacation house in WA due to the border being closed. We did this with plenty of time to spare according to the rental agreement. For two weeks now I can't get a response from anyone at either company about the initial deposit being refunded. No response. None. The kicker is this morning they charged the rest of the rental to my credit card!
What a shady way to do business. My bank is going to cancel this morning's charge but I'm pretty sure the deposit is gone for good.

I wish VRBO and AirBnB would fix their damn sites. Why do they not allow the map and listings panels to be resized? The "list" panel on the left is enormous.

Stupid take or not, I don’t agree with people losing their job because of this kind of thing. We now live in a world where social media is -everywhere- and the overarching censorship is getting out of hand.

Find a large company that doesn't have an iron-clad social media appendix in their hire package and go off.

Yes, but at the same time, just don’t make bigoted comments on social media. The number of people who will scuttle their own careers is stupefying. What are people thinking?

Well, Evolve got back to me a short time ago. They are refunding the amount that they charged to my card this morning. They won't refund the deposit that was made months ago though. They will keep it on the books as a credit for future use. All in all it's a compromise that I'll live with.

People are best off not putting anything on social media where they can be identified. Or practise the 24-hour rule and think about it before hitting SEND. I’m teaching an industry course where this will be mentioned.

And act as though you arent anonymous. Show a little sense.
The 24 hour rule is definitely a good one if you're really angry or drunk.
The problem is that the internet operates on the 'Complex Ricky Bobby Theorem of Reality.'
"If you're not first you're last!"
And it goes with news, opinions or just general outrage. But we see it in media all the time now. You have to be first!

On the bright side, the ability to post crap has gotten some extremely dumb people off Twitter, like Wexit guy.

I would totally agree, but social media’s are apparently so pervasive in society that it’s tough for some to avoid. This forum is literally the only ‘Social Media’ I’m involved in, so it’s hard for me to understand completely, but it seems like it’s starting to just be a partner of regular life.
It doesn’t seem like a tool that is being misused or abused by people, rather it’s just a totally normal part of life - twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, ticktoc, I swear it’s just people living their lives now and this is part of it. It’s like firing someone because of a conversation they had with someone at the bar, the only difference is the friend at the bar has been replaced with the internet. I don’t know, it’s ####ing weird.
Not to mention, a lady like in this instance is more ignorant than hateful. What Has firing her done, besides illustrate that a stupid opinion means you should lose your livelihood and have your name dragged across the internet?

She was fired because the company did not want someone with those values effecting their brand .
Why do people act like some magic “rule” gets people posting on social media fired. A company can relatively fire you for whatever they want.
No different then a manager walking by her saying this at the water cooler and deciding to terminate.

Some folks feel that what they say/do in their private lives on their private time is not their work's business/concern.
Which...is an interesting can of worms.
