We were supposed to get hit with polar air going into February but the long term forecast has improved significantly in the past day or so. It will only be slightly cooler now as we'll remain in the single digit negatives. Great news!
Looks like we're getting spared from real winter for a little longer. The longer it goes on, the less runway winter has to hit us with a deep freeze. *knocks on a 4x4*

In Edmonton we had a wind warning and a winter squall warning.
It was frigging crazy here last night.
gusts were to be up over 100km/hr and I believe it got that high.
just wild bizzare January weather. I swear I heard thunder, too.

I had almost this exact thought yesterday. I emerged from my basement office at the end of the day and the natural light was still coming in the house - it was a great feeling!
