I thought "Esq." was just the equivalent of "Mr." or "Mrs.", except it's used at the end of the name instead of the beginning (and you wouldn't use both at the same time).
"Mr. Joe Smith" would be the same as "Joe Smith, Esq.", however, "Mr. Joe Smith, Esq." would be incorrect usage.

You are correct. Construction started in spring 2018. 97 more years to go until it opens.

They are just dragging their feet until brutalism makes a comeback and they can treat the saved sections of concrete as some sort of renascence park. Any day now.

I thought Esq was a lawyer thing like M.D. is for doctors at the end of their names.
Either way Esq is cool AF and if I was one, I'd use it on all my correspondence.

I wonder if the new “don’t be teaching our kids about sex in school!”
will be “don’t be teaching our kids about the 2020 election in school!”

Its not a thing in Canada. At least not that I know of.
Technically lawyers can call themselves doctors (so long as they received their J.D.) but I would be absolutely surprised if any did with being mocked

I always think it's silly for a law degree to be called a juris doctorate. It just seems kind of silly, like a whole profession inflating their title to feed their ego. Everyone knows it's not really a doctorate. Fittingly American though.

Why does the chiropractor community not self mock like lawyers do?

Theyre too busy prescribing naturopathic treatments and telling each other about their expertise in vaccines.

Some of them, including one who posts on CP, even give themselves Latin honors (e.g. cum laude) from institutions that do not hand out Latin honors. The only Canadian universities I am aware of that awards Latin honors are York and McMaster, and they only do it in certain programs. None of the Alberta universities have Latin honours. However, some people put on their CVs and LinkedIn profiles that they received Latin honors from a university in Alberta.
You shouldn't just take your GPA and represent yourself as someone who graduated magna cum laude, when the university didn't award you that distinction.

1) What happened to Steve Smith from "The Red Green Show"?
2) Why are weather forecasts in Calgary so bad? We had high winds in NW Calgary, and there was nothing in the forecast.
3) Why does Air Canada keep bombing my email with vacation deals that nobody can reasonable plan to take.

I doubt he's doing them now, but Steve Smith was doing Red Green shows throughout North America on various tours.

Yeah, I finally unsubscribed to WestJet's email list last week. Like, are you fataing kidding me with these out-of-touch vacation deals? The other thing kind of funny is there is literally no price that would make them look attractive, so every price seems like a giant rip off.
