I don't even mind them having the designated Sports Select segment with the "Magnificent Seven" theme, and recapping how awful their picks turned out. That can be entertaining and funny. It's just when it becomes synonymous with NFL talk of any kind that it really starts to grate on me.

Sports betting is only going to get bigger as leagues embrace it even more and I don't really want that sort of conversation to become the emphasis of discussing upcoming games. I have enough buddies who can flood a group chat with screen caps of their five incomprehensible six-part parlay bets and exhaustively explaining their strategy, thinking they're Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems.

Brian Burke on SN960 just said that JT Miller played a great game last night. I can't tell if that was a lame joke, or if he is just embarrassingly wrong.

Well his season stat line is slighlty better than McDavid's since he is still even on the year +/- wise.

He has to be screwing with the morning crew to see if they even watched the game as they talked about him on the panel last night

Every single day Klein leaves himself on mute for 10-20 seconds and there is just silence. We have been living the work from home life for 10 months. Figure it out

I wouldn’t be too hard on Klein. Do you know how many concussions he’s been through from lack of coordination and general awkwardness?

I have heard the running joke (which isn't really a joke) I actually like Klein but the mid-interview mute happens at a ridiculous frequency

I had to refresh my phone browser because I thought the feed cut out. He does do this a lot. I picture him playing with his dog or something and half-listening.

I would rate on-air personalities under two requirements : sports knowledge and entertainment value. An essential overriding factor is also a natural oratory talent. No one on the Fan has that last item in any abundance at the moment. In terms of sports knowledge Pinder and Steinberg are keepers. They would do well to bring in someone who is more of a baseball specialist, as that is Rogers bread and butter.

Haven't been overly entertained in a while.

edit : I feel a bit bad for being too harsh. 960 is still on the rotation in the afternoons if I'm driving. Sometimes I do feel as if the station has lost the script though.

I feel like that is more a comment on how abysmal the rest of the talk radio dial is.......

Is Nault the bigger moron for ruining segments with his incoherent takes and overbearing personality or is Kirsch the bigger moron for keeping him on the air? The afternoon show is a shell of its former self without Pinder. I mean guess the morning show is better now, but the more Nault is asked to participate, the worse any show becomes.

Time to rebrand - Sportsnet 960, You Know, The Fan. Are these guys actual professionals? Do they not realize how many times they say You Know on air?

And what is with Wills always pronouncing names differently than everyone else? Does he have an underlying accent I'm not aware of? Or is he just trying way too hard?

Hearing him say Brad Trelaving makes my ears hurt, and his uber-french Dominik Simon even though he's Czech are just 2 examples of his horrendous habits.

Is it Nault that has the perma Debbie downer tone, even when he's trying to say good things about the team/players?

He always sounds somewhere between cautionary and irritated.

Put on your happy voice dude, it's hard to listen to.

Nault is the worst. Brutal takes every day and the most annoying delivery of said takes. Makes the afternoon show just terrible and not worth listening to. Total Jabroni.

Not 960 related but Sixeiro just announced he is leaving the Tim and Sid show.

Certainly a surprise.

Edit: He just also announced he is joining Breakfast Television as a co-host (in Toronto) in March.

That seems crazy...I'm guessing that a promotion into more mainstream work but honestly I feel like Tim and Sid is a bigger job especially nationally.

No way. BT is LARGE! This is from 2016.

More Canadians are waking up with Breakfast Television than any other morning show brand across the country. Following a consecutive nine-month period in the #1 spot, Breakfast Television remains the most-watched morning show brand on TV in Canada, reaching 1.7 million viewers P2+ every week. Since January 2016, the show has also held the #1 spot locally in Toronto, according to data from Numeris.*
As Toronto’s longest-running and highest-rated morning show – leading the pack in such key demos as Women 25-54 and Adults 18-49

He elaborated on it a bit. Basically he said that through a lot of self-reflection while having to work from home the last 10 months or so, that when he was presented with a unique opportunity, he wanted to jump on it. Didn't want to regret not taking a chance.

Also stated he would be doing some sports on the side down the line.
