Netflix is down for everyone, or so I would assume , as it isn't working on my xbox360 either.

It's probably real busy. I did manage to log in, but I might have just been lucky at the time.

New to the thread, so apologies if this has really been touched upon, but a friend of mine was really interested in Netflix and I pointed him to the website and the free one month trial. After looking at the website he decided against it. I had a look as well.

Wow, their selection is horrid. TV wise, Arrested Development, Prison Break, Better Off Ted? Um, what year is this? Popular movies, Date Night and National Security? Wha?

Am I missing something? Why would anyone pay anything for this?

Because people enjoy watching movies on demand? Better off Ted was only cancelled this year. Netflix is not meant to have current tv shows on it that is what hulu and all of those other sites are for.

Sorry it doesn't appeal to you we all love it

Better Off Ted was not cancelled this year. It was "officially" cancelled Jan 2010. Anyway, that was not the point of my post.

I'm not saying those who like it shouldn't, I'm just saying, what am I missing here. Old TV shows and crappy movies. I just didn't get the appeal.

Nothing! You obviously do not like old movies or tv shows so go back to torrenting cam rips and enjoy the new stuff

Agreed, it was better than most war movies out there in its mere 20 minute runtime.

I've now actually watched up in till episode 16 of the show and the Christmas episode was so unexpected but amazing at the same time, Abed is my favorite character by far ( this was decided during "Messianic Myths and Ancient Peoples" in which Abed depicts himself as Jesus...kind of)

I love this show.

Will the streaming quality be sufficient using wifi network?

Keep in mind my signal strength is 100% because my router is like 12 feet away.

But should I wire it? It is an option but isn't the most convenient. I already have my Xbox 360 ethernet cable running across the floor.

Wow...relax and calm down buddy. You own stock in Netflix?

Just posting my opinion. Pretty sure that is still allowed on the forum. And I'll do what I wish, thank you very much.

Haha someone comes in on page 22 to say Netflix's selection is 'crappy'. Welcome to like page 5.

Yeah, way to take my post out of context. And I didn't say it was crappy, I was wondering what I was missing to make people pay for this service.

I also said at the beginning of my post:

Fair enough.

Meh, whatever, each to their own. Just not the service for me and my friend also didn't care for it. Perhaps it will get better and closer to the US service down the road.

I like Netflix because it has enough content to keep me interested for a really really really cheap fee. It's by far my cheapest expense.

The us service isn't all that much better just has the choice of using the que and more tv selections. If you don't like watching 1-2 year old + movies then netflix isn't for you. Noone can sway you into liking it. Its a love hate relationship either love it or hate it
