Vodka and rifles as we murder house pets. What could go awry?

Oh Russia....

In 1000 years people will still want theories as to the demise of the Soviet Union.

For me...its bad hats.

We all know the Catholic Church's penchant for haberdashery but man are Russian hats just awful. Just the worst.

From the paper hats the miners wore, the bad military hats and whatever the hell Lagosov wears, and the the stereotypical Russian....fur hat?

Awful. All of it. I'd love to see a Russian Baseball team in those enormous Fur Hats.

"The state has decreed that a Russian outfielder cannot drop a pop-fly regardless of their state of headwear, ergo that was caught and the batter is out."

Enjoyed the series when it came out. Didn't realize they had a similar podcast like HBO did for the Last of Us.

Going back and checking them all out.

I think it's an even better podcast too. The comparison to real history is much more interesting than the comparison to a video game (not to say The Last Of Us' podcast was bad, but Chernobyl benefits from even richer source material).

I have to agree with this. I watched Chernobyl...but the podcast afterwards? It adds so much both to the show itself but also to the context of the event...

It just has so much more gravity.

Is it worth listening too on its own much later? I didnt listen when I watched it a few years ago

Or should it be done with a rewatch

I honestly could not tell you.

Chernobyl for me is like 'Band of Brothers.' It gets watched a minimum of once a year.

Maybe someone else can answer that for you?

For me?

- Watch Episode
- Digest
- Throw podcast on 3rd screen at work the next day

I felt that worked pretty well for me. I did the same thing for 'The Last of Us.'

Sometimes....these shows have so much going on that you have to throw in a re-watch prior to the podcast.

Unpopular opinion, The Pacific is better than Band of Brothers

Its not an unpopular opinion, its just wrong.

I loved Chernobyl but Band of Brothers is, in my opinion, the unquestionable 'Gold Standard' of mini-series.

The Pacific was really good and I enjoyed it, but it doesnt hold a candle to either of them.

Dude, it wasn't even good. No character development at all. POS show that I had such high hopes for.

Generation Kill is better than Band of Brothers & Pacific combined.

Agreed, I loved Generation Kill.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Band of Brothers too, but I liked Pacific more.

Every time we leave the house for a month after watching GK, I yell "we're oscar mike!" to my wife and she rolls her eyes.

I watched it with my son.

He looked at me and asked if this is "what's wrong with me".

I love him.

The Pacific would have been a lot better without the Jon Basilone story. Just Sledge and Lecky. I get that he was a Medal of Honor winner, but it wasn't a great part of the show.

I loved Chernobyl, would recommend it to anyone asking for something new to watch, but I have no desire to watch it from start to finish again, yet.
