by my math that gives them a 23 man roster with 10 forwards 10 d-men and 3 goalies
Revolutionizing the roster make-up? 2 forwards, 2 dmen, 2 goalies on the ice at all times. Only logical explanation

Well, they're compliant I guess. Also an obvious candidate for deals tomorrow.

McPhee has done some good things but will be interesting to see if he has a plan to undo this mess. Carrying 10 defencemen and 3 goalies doesn't exactly give you strong leverage if you're looking to make a trade.

He probably has a few irons in the fire and didn't blink at the roster deadline today, where undoubtedly other GMs tried to take advantage of it to see if they could force him into a trade.

Feels like he's been playing poker from the start and publicly denying that he will need to make moves almost to the extreme, for example his telling all 10 dmen to get houses/apartments in Vegas.

To an extent I respect the approach so as not to weaken his negotiating position but everyone knows the reality of his situation and it comes off as a bit asinine.

Will be interesting tomorrow to see if he pulls it off or ends up with egg on his face.

Lol this season they would need it.

It's gonna take a lot of rope a dope for them to pull out wins on most nights.

Hes playing a game of chicken. Problem with that is whoever he is playing against knows he has to make a move at some point. Like 2 or 3 moves.

He played some wing with Pittsburgh IIRC.

They can just put D playing 4th line W... its not like it'll make or break the results of each game... nor does mgmt really care if they lose, likely... I don't see him being desperate.

Vegas doesn't play its first game until Friday, so they do have a little extra time to figure things out, but still, it's close.

Haha, yeah McPhee's plan to load up on defence to trade them has backfired spectacularly, as other teams realised if they waited he would be forced to waive some of them. So annoying that Vegas was given a great opportunity to ice the best expansion team ever but is instead icing one of the worst teams ever.

At this stage a trading one of their defence to the Flames for Brouwer or Stajan plus Wotherspoon makes a lot of sense.

I still think Vegas has the right idea - take a bunch of expiring contracts. You can flip anybody good, and anyone who sucks is gone anyway.

Seems like they should've taken more forwards though. Looks like McPhee... Overplayed his hand.

LV drafted a bad team. They made too many deals to leave good players and pick bad ones. They could have had a way better team but wanted to play nice...now they're a joke.

They may be a joke, but they're a joke with a zillion draft picks in the cupboard. I wouldn't write off McPhee just yet.
