Calgary Flames fans ranked most vulgar in NHL

When I saw this, having visited many other arenas I didn't believe it.
Then I read where the stats came from, totally believed it.
The Flames reddit page is dominated by potty mouthed 14yo's.

His posts are easily the dumbest and worst part of the C of Reddit. It’s an annoying schtick that is done by either an 8 year old or a 50 year old that has the mentality of an 8 year old. There’s a lot of good stuff on the sub. His calls and the responses could leave and it would be a much better place.

I love the energy, and I don't care about the profanity, but it's grown a bit tiresome. I stopped clicking on them a while ago as they don't really contain much discussion. I prefer the Friday trash talk threads on r/hockey which have the same hilarious vibe but more actual hockey content.

Lines up with my personal experience. Not super scientific but the most hostile fans as a visitor were easily rangers and flames fans and they're high up. Chicago Washington and Nashville at the bottom half match up.

Philly is the only outlier for me. Makes sense they're high but my own anecdotal evidence was they we're cool.

This is a pretty stupid methodology, though.

You went to a game as a visiting fan in Chicago and considered them low on the hostile list? Wow, I had the exact opposite experience.

Arizona has to be at the bottom for sure. I went back to back nights and counted over 15 different hockey team jerseys each night.

I haven't been able to go to an NHL game in years, living in the desert of Eastern Utah, however, I have been to see the clowns that attend the ECHL Utah Grizzlies, and was, thoroughly unimpressed by the racists fans there in West Valley, a suburb of Salt Lake. Not necessarily profane, but, certainly, contemptible and ignorant bigots.


Now, as far as Chicago fans, I would expect band-wagoners that got on board only after 2009's upturn, to be pretty damn ignorant, with a false sense of superiority. For myself, I had only ever been to games at the old Chicago Stadium, which was raucous, in its own way, but, only even 'R' rated when our own team screwed up, or, if Detroit (who shall forever suck) was involved.

This ranking is basically based on one foul mouth fan in his moms basement...its based on a sub reddit why some clown who can't put three words together without a swear word...not sure why people keep talking about the fans in the building ect. Its not exactly the most scientific poll.

I love how they just throw out headlines without actually reading where the study comes from. The way 660 news reported it, it just sounded like they were talking about fans in the building. You read the actual article, it has NOTHING to do with fans in the building at all.

They might as well have just sampled some random whatsapp fan group between some buddies.

Worst fans in our building are usually for the visiting team. Drunk newfies at habs games, mulleted oilers fans, drunk vancouver fans wanting to fight... those are usually the obnoxious ones, but I don't like missing a Battle of Alberta.
