Happy to see them get thru while that lying Loria toils away in Miami.

I grew up a hard core expos fan and moved to Virginia around the same time they moved to DC and followed them pretty religiously since. So, pretty exciting times for me!

Loria doesn't have anything to do with the Marlins any more, or any team. And that's a good thing for everyone.

He did get that one title in 2003 in that oddball season, but he wasn't around for the first one in 97.
Either way, I have no love for him. IIRC he was in a scandal about selling the team in exchange for a French Diplomat job. Solid character that man.
The Nationals franchise is far better off with the Group they have in place now.

Oh he's a crapbag alright. I just found the incongruity of calling out Loria - who had vastly more success in his time in Miami than Washington has - a little odd.

The postcast "Infamous America" did a really good series on the Black Sox scandal: https://blackbarrelmedia.com/shows/black-sox/

Probably series over after that inning. Yankees choking in the clutch all series.

Yup Yankees can’t get hits once they get runners in scoring position.
Series over as doubt they can win 3 straight with Verlander and Cole each getting another start IMO.

But but but the Yankees are unstoppable and no one can beat them on the way to World Series championships. At least the broadcast hasn’t given up on them yet.
Sucks to see CC go out that way in what was probably his last appearance as a yankee

The Astros are being good garbagemen so far these playoffs, taking out all the trash. Love it.

Hopefully the Astros close it out tonight with Verlander. This could make for an underrated World Series, as Nationals are kind of like the St. Louis Blues, playing incredible baseball after a bad start.

Yeah, I for sure thought Verlander would lock it down tonight.
I could never cheer for the evil empire but the Canadian in me is hoping Paxton can at least have a decent start.

Major League Baseball is in negotiations with its minor league teams about efforts to "reorganize elements of the system" that could reduce the number of affiliated teams from 160 to 120, according to reports.
The current agreement between Major League Baseball and the minor league teams -- called the Professional Baseball Agreement -- expires at the end of the 2020 season. MLB is looking to make some major changes, according to reports, that would overhaul all levels of the minors, particularly at low Class A and below.

That’s probably a homer in the regular season. The unjuiced ball strikes.
