Looking at everyone's remaining schedule, it seems to me that a BoA in the first round is still unlikely:
- Anaheim: @CGY - CGY - CHI - LAK
- Edmonton: @LAK - @SJS - @VAN - VAN
- San Jose: @VAN - VAN - EDM - CGY
- Calgary: ANA - @ANA - @LAK - @SJS
- Nashville: @STL - NYI - @DAL - @WPG
- St Louis: NSH - WPG - @FLA - @CAR - COL
Right now, the Flames are one point behind San Jose and one point ahead of Nashville and St Louis.
If the Flames don't get enough points to pass the Sharks, they probably also won't get enough to stay ahead of the Preds and Blues, who have very light schedules to end the season.
If they do get enough to pass the Sharks, it will mean beating Anaheim at least once, which will probably mean that Anaheim won't have enough to stay ahead of the Oilers.
It seems to me that the most likely scenarios are either: The Flames pass San Jose, Edmonton finishes first and the Flames play Anaheim in the first round; or the Flames drop into the second wild card spot and play Chicago in the first round.
Given those options, I'd definitely prefer the Oilers in the first round (although, I could do without their fans).
