When the Flames traded him in 2007, I think they lost some intangibles, that they never really did get back until the 2014-2015 team. He also fingered the people in Montreal whether it was on purpose or not...it was awesome. Suck it Hab fans.

Congrats on closing out a long NHL career, Andrew, and thanks for your great contributions to the Flames and that amazing 2004 team. All the best in your next adventure!

Congrats Andrew!

I remember sitting right behind him during a Bruins/Panthers game.

He had started a thread here for some reason; I could be wrong but it might have had something to do with selling a motorcycle for a charity? Really can't remember.

I posted hi Andrew, I'll be sitting right in the middle of the row right behind the Bruins bench when you come down to play the Panthers and then some other crap I can't recall.

He kept coming back to the same spot on the bench right in front of me or the next spot over.

Maybe it was coincidence; maybe that was some ritual he had during games.

Maybe he thought it was good luck lol.

I'll never know.

I always thought that sutter made a huge mistake trading him as I felt like he was an important guy in the room.

But that being said, sutter did him a favour as well as he was on a team that won the cup.

Hey ferrence, you were good. Enjoy the next phase of your life

It always amused me that a member of CP ended up being the Captain of the Oilers lol

It's not his fault, they have a knack for ending careers.

Congrats Andrew. Thanks for taking the time to post here back in the day. And thanks for all the charity work you and your family do.

I liked his desire to win and hatred to lose.

Also one of the most well spoken hockey players I can recall.

I will remember him as a Flame and I wish him the best in the future.

If you want you can follow him on Strava and compare your physical abilities to that of a NHL level athlete. As a bit of a hint, I do not compare favourably.
