There are 19 games left in Stocktons season.
Pelletier needs 6 more goals in that span to beat Jankowski's record of 27 goals.

Wonder if we’ll see any of the stockton guys play a game with the flames near the end of the regular season when playoff seeding is locked up

The Bakersfield goal that broke the shutout bid for Wolf sounded like your patented fluke goal that that franchise seems known for. Had no business breaking the shutout in listening to the play by play.

Good that the prospects will get some solid playoff experience in the AHL this year. I really hope Pelletier isn’t genuinely part of the trade discussions for Chiarot or anyone else.

Possible.... only if there's a few bruised and nicked regulars.

Stockton's all but clinched a playoff spot. Their seeding isn't as critical, but seeing their youngsters play a lot aids in their development.

Older farmhands like Froese, Gawdin might get called up first.

Not a chance they deal Pelts for Chiarot...

MARK MY WORDS

With five consecutive wins and points in six straight games, the magic number for the Stockton Heat to clinch a playoff spot is 3 entering tomorrow’s rematch with Bakersfield. Here is the clinching scenario: the Stockton Heat will punch their ticket to play for Frank Calder’s Cup tomorrow night IF…
  1. The Heat win against Bakersfield AND Tucson loses in any fashion against San Jose, OR…
  2. The Heat lose to Bakersfield in OT or SO, and Tucson loses in regulation to San Jose.
We all know of the talent and ability Connor Mackey brings to the game of hockey, but now we’re seeing it flourish at a point in the year where it matters most. In particular, his puck moving has been a focal point of his most recent personal success, going on a five-game assist streak near the end of February.

Johannes Kinnvall has certainly made up for lost time since joining the Heat blue line in January following an injury that kept him out of game action for almost nine months. “Shinny”, as he’s affectionately called in the locker room, is essentially registering an assist every other game, with 6 helpers in a dozen contests.

Call me a “get off my lawn kind of broadcaster”, but Saturday’s comeback win against San Jose is evidence that fighting has a place in the game of hockey. Not only did Alex Gallant take leadership and ownership of defending Matthew Phillips, who took a liberal hit in the second period of the game, but he created a ton of energy and momentum for his team and fans while facing a 3-1 deficit at the time of his bout with San Jose’s Montana Onyebuchi.

STK losing 4-0 to Bakersfield at the end of the 2nd. Werner gave up 3 goals on 9 shots, and has been replaced by Wolf who has made 10/11 saves.

I know +/- isn't a perfect stat, but at -1 Valimaki now has the worst +/- of any defence man on the team. I was hoping he'd seize the opportunity in Stockton to show what he's capable of, but he hasn't been great. If the Flames needed a callup he'd be way behind Mackey at this point.

HEAT POINT STREAK ENDS IN SETBACK AGAINST BAKERSFIELD

The Stockton Heat (35-10-4-1) saw their six-game point streak come to a close in a 5-1 setback Wednesday against the visiting Bakersfield Condors (25-16-4-5). Bakersfield took an early lead, Cooper Marody scoring his first of three goals on the night in the game’s opening minute. It started a three-strike opening frame for the visitors, with two from Marody and one from Tim Schaller. The Condors then added to their lead in the second with a shorthanded, breakaway strike and expanded the cushion to five midway through the third.
Byron Froese scored the lone goal for the home team in the tilt, a redirection in front on a feed from Colton Poolman to cap the evening’s scoring.

  • Stockton now leads the season series with a 6-1-1-0 against Bakersfield.
  • Cooper Marody’s hat trick was the first conceded by Stockton since Josh Currie of Bakersfield on January 16, 2019.
  • The Heat are 12-0-1-0 on the year following losses on the year.

Not from Stockton, but would like to see Vladar get more starts here . Keep Markstrom fresh for the post-season. Eyeing up tomorrow night against Buffalo
